Work is not all of life. Your co-workers shouldn’t be your only friends. Schedule life and defend it just as you would an important business meeting. Never tell yourself “I’ll just get it done this weekend.” Review Parkinson’s Law and force yourself to cram within tight hours so your per-hour productivity doesn’t fall through the floor. Focus, get the critical few done, and get out. E-mailing all weekend is no way to spend the little time you have on this planet.
@GWRHelp will there be trains running between Charlbury and Paddington tomorrow?
I see there's disruption between Oxford and Reading but it's still possible to buy tickets for this service
Would you be able to clarify, please?
Few things are more important in life than avoiding the wrong people.
It’s tempting to think that we are strong enough to avoid adopting the worst of others, but that’s not how it typically works.
We unconsciously become what we’re near.
If you work for a jerk, sooner or later you’ll become one yourself. If your colleagues are selfish, sooner or later you become selfish. If you hang around someone who’s unkind, you’ll slowly become unkind. Little by little, you adopt the thoughts and feelings, the attitudes and standards of the people around you. The changes are too gradual to notice until they’re too large to address.

Over the last few weeks, our team worked hard on a new feature that we'd like to present to you today.
Here's how it works ↓
Traditionally, it has been suggested that post-workout stretching can help improve the rate of recovery after exercise. However, this meta-analysis showed that there is no such beneficial effect.
Wrote some stuff after reflecting on the journey of building products at Pluto and prior. Ultimately it feels as though solving customer needs (even if you do it really well) doesn't equal success... the key is designing for growth.

Big fan of process goals over outcome goals generally. Largely because I feel more motivated to stick to a process, and often underwhelmed when historically focusing on (and achieving) a specific outcome
A new meta-analysis on the impact of goal setting on performance found:
1. Process goals had a large effect on performance
2. Performance goals had a moderate effect
3. Outcome goals had a negligible effect
A story about running, yet nothing about running. A story of extremes and pure ordinariness. A story you likely won't read, but probably should. The perfect piece for the weekend.

Just like with gardening, all digital products should have a pruning season where you selectively remove branches to improve the structure, and direct new, healthy growth.
A few key takeaways from the new HLP on Breathing & the Brain
1) Learning & memory improves with nasal breathing.
2) We sigh deeply every ~5min to refill our lungs completely and offload C02.
3) Alertness & reaction time improve during inhales & w/inhale-emphasized breathing.
