Why is Hamas so atrocious?
Why do they not just fight Israel, but engage in some of the worst atrocities imaginable, like rape, massacring civilians, and so on? Why do all other Islamic fundamentalist movements, from Al Qaeda to ISIS to the Taliban, do the same things?
Unfortunately, it comes down to one of the core principles of Islam: Be like Muhammad. Take slaves, rape young girls, kill people in robberies.
Plenty of us know fine people who are Muslim. You might have a good Muslim doctor or work with a pleasant Muslim coworker or buy dinner from friendly Muslim-owned restaurant that always does a good job. We have to have sympathy for people who grew up in that culture. But these are people who don’t really live by Islam. They might sort of vaguely believe, or they might say that Islam is about charity and really live that out. You should respect them and be friends with them.
But that shouldn’t blind us to a very important fact. The people who are trying hardest to live by the rules of Islam are not good people, because those rules are evil and cruel. There is no denying it: Islam, as a core part of its belief system, says that the greatest man in history, greater than Einstein, greater than Abraham Lincoln, greater than Jesus, was a slave trading mass murderer who took a nine-year-old as a child bride (and this child bride, we are told, was his favorite among his several wives).
That is why your doctor, or colleague, or neighbor, is not a bad person: They are decent people precisely because they are bad Muslims who are not really following Muhammad.
Islamic revivalist movements are crystal clear about this. That’s why ISIS, which really tried to live by the rules of Islam, set up slave markets and gave away female captives as sex slaves. Muhammad himself made rules for sex slaves and slave trading, and he was the "greatest man in history," so why would sincere Muslims behave any differently? You can find thousands of people today who were bought and sold like cattle at auction by strict Muslims who spent every waking minute trying to be like Muhammad. I can’t imagine the pain of decent people trying to live in a culture where this is the ideal, because the humanity in them must revolt against it at every moment. No doubt 2300 years ago there were decent people in Carthage too, who revolted against sacrificing innocent children. Nevertheless, Carthage was evil and it’s a good thing that its child-sacrificing death cult is gone. It's a good thing that ISIS and the caliphate are destroyed. And it will be a good thing when Hamas is gone, and when Islam no longer oppresses billions of people all over the world.
Malaysia has renewed its refusal to recognize Israel, stressing that this is a longstanding policy rather than a new decision. Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan said the country’s ambassador to the United States, Mohamed Shahrul Ikram Yaakob, reiterated during his summons by the US State Department that Kuala Lumpur’s position toward Israel has remained unchanged for decades.
The minister affirmed that Malaysia does not maintain any relations with Israel and does not recognize it, while also preventing Israelis from entering its territory, noting that this policy is part of the country’s position on the Palestinian issue.
These statements come amid rising tensions with the United States, following calls from members of the US Congress to impose measures against Malaysia over its stance on Israel.
BREAKING: REPORTER: You're talking about blowing up civilian power plants and bridges. Much of the civilized world would consider that a war crime. Do you?
TRUMP: I won't respond to that question. Who are you with?
REPORTER: The New York Times…
TRUMP: I figured. The failing New York Times.
Can we just… drop the facade of morality here for a minute and speak candidly?
Iran is RIGHT for striking vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. I said it, I don’t care if you like it. You’re lying to yourself if you want to act like it’s wrong.
The United States launched a war of aggression against a sovereign country, and this is an obvious and long-identified defense maneuver meant to create asymmetric downside against an overwhelmingly more powerful military adversary.
“Ohhhh but it’s wronggg. What about international lawwwww”
Last I checked, slaughtering 120 schoolchildren in Minab is against international law. Last I checked, launching a war of aggression against a sovereign nation like we see here is against international law. Last I checked, bombing water storage and infrastructure facilities is against international law…
… last I checked, the United States killed three Indian sailors in the Strait of Hormuz by attacking a civilian vessel.
“Ohhhhh but maritime lawwww. UNCLOS”
Y’all check on Cuba lately? The last delivery of oil to Matanzas was the Anatoly Kolodkin in MARCH. The United States is the SOLE reason the Universal couldn’t deliver in May. They have blackouts for 22 hours a day. Their hospitals can’t function.
You can whine all you want about morals and ethics, but maybe take a second to realize how stupid you sound doing it.
@ithinkitmyway@korrathetaymi 3.Jesus: "as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Matt 12:40). Friday crucifixion to Sunday resurrection is about a day and a half — doesn't match his own stated timeline.
@ithinkitmyway@korrathetaymi 1. Jesus later quotes Psalm 82:6, "I said, you are gods," defending himself against blasphemy charges by noting Scripture calls human judges "gods" too. He also prays his disciples be "one" with the Father just like him (John 17:11,21-22). Unity of purpose, not shared essence.
@ithinkitmyway@korrathetaymi 2. Same Jesus says: "of that day and hour no one knows... not even the Son, but the Father alone" (Mark 13:32). Not omniscient, by his own words. Pre-existing in God's plan ≠ being God (compare Jeremiah 1:5, "before I formed you in the womb I knew you").

Israel doesn’t allowing the entry of prescription lenses or eyeglass frames into Gaza.
Not weapons.
Not military equipment. Glasses.
When civilians are denied even the most basic tools needed to see, it raises serious questions about the human cost of these restrictions.
