opened my @MyTouchnGo app just now and the icon had scratch marks all over it.
then I checked their IG - all posts deleted. scratched-away branding. a teaser video saying something big is coming.
three theories, ranked by likelihood:
1. IPO incoming (most likely)
TNG Digital just crossed RM103M profit after tax in FY2025. CEO Alan Ni has been fielding investment banker pitches for a @BursaMalaysia listing aggressively.
valuation: RM4–5 billion.
if this is what the scratch marks mean, they're shedding the private startup skin to reveal a public company.
that would make them the first fintech unicorn to list on Bursa Malaysia.
2. full rebrand beyond toll and card (highly likely)
the new MyKad launching this June is removing the built-in TnG function entirely.
and quietly, tolls and parking now make up only low single digits of TNG Digital's actual revenue.
what they've been building instead: BizCash business financing, cross-border remittance, micro-insurance, AI fraud protection.
the scratch marks could literally be scratching away the "physical card at a toll booth" identity and revealing a full digital financial lifestyle app.
3. wildcard: new mascot or major partnership
scratch marks that specific usually mean claws.
could be a new gamified campaign, a character, or a major brand collab.
least likely. but the most fun if true.
my bet: low key all three layered together.
IPO announcement wrapped in a rebrand wrapped in a product drop.
they're changing what TnG means, and repositioning themselves in the Malaysian tech ecosystem.
gonna be pretty interesting to watch this over the next 48 hours👀

@JohnLoc18 I’ve been in a similar spot as you (and probably still am), and knowing this helps me keep my biases in check before each trade. Hopefully, we’ll keep improving and build a strong mental foundation!
