iPhone Duo is here! Excited to have worked on the design of our open/close transition. It’s designed to make the two displays feel like one seamless experience by perceptually bending the focal plane, not the content, so that it feels like opening a window onto a singular view.
Looking for a fun app to try out on iPhone Duo? Check out ChibiStudio 4! Try playing around with laptop mode in the chibi canvas 👀

@bobek_balinek To be fair it’s very possible that the builds of these apps in the non-Duo runtime are not the ones that have been optimized for the device, hence why they didn’t include them.
The simulator runtime for iOS 27.2 supports iPhone Duo now, but it still comes with almost none of the built-in apps. That doesn’t mean you can’t just install them from the non-Duo iOS 27.2 runtime via “xcrun simctl install” though 😏
I really wanted to see what the HomeView setup UI looks like on device, so I adapted my little ESP32 Apple accessory emulator firmware to broadcast its Bluetooth advertisements 😅
Of course the first thing I did with my iPhone 18 Pro was to write an app that allows me to control the variable aperture from my Mac so that I could record it moving using a microscope, as one does.
@SebJVidal I played around with it but for some reason the toolbar being a capsule shape just didn't work for my eyes. I haven't tried making it narrower though 🤔
