Glad to be finally (in person!!) at @uioecon for the kick-off of the #TaxFair@forskningsradet-funded project led by @pgpiacquadio. Exciting years (and research) ahead!
Johannes is a great student -- & co-author! His exciting JMP is about variation across US states in MPCs out of stimulus checks (a la @ProfJAParker & Souleles). He correlates this variation with cross-state variation in tax progressivity & connects the two in a structural model.

Despite my head of department warmly suggests I focus on writing papers (for tenure sake), I find refereeing really important and rewarding. So I am really happy of this award!

What I learned from JMP of @kristoberg
Income taxes reflect preferences for vertical AND horizontal equity
Great job at explaining the magic needed to decompose their contributions (theory + empirics)

@voxeu@ecb@Adrian_Mo_ @stroebel_econ @StefanoGiglioEc@m_maggiori@ProfJAParker 4/4 Take away:
1) EU portfolio heterogeneity is also driven by cross-country differences in beliefs
2) How much do beliefs matter relative to other relevant factors? -> More research needed
3) Erosion of trust in social and communal institutions can show up in portfolios
