Activist Dion Diamond sitting on a counter stool during a civil rights sit-in, Arlington, 1960. He sat there being insulted, harassed, hit and was arrested multiple times for doing it and he’s still alive today.
—It was in the year 1960, at the height of racial segregation in the United States, Dion Diamond, a black man, had grown tired of having his rights constantly trampled on.
"Crazy Diamond" they called him at that time, this man entered the premises and went directly to the white area, sat down and stayed there without flinching. Sometimes groups of people gathered around him, threatening and insulting him and "Crazy Diamond" kept sitting without moving an inch.
Dion said "I would sit down, and they would tell me that they couldn't attend to me and I didn't move, groups of up to 15 or 20 people would come to tell me to get out and I didn't flinch, I would only leave if they threatened to call the police"
Just by sitting down, this activist made many people stand up and fight for change, with an act as simple as sitting down.
I love that people are still discovering this fact every year, and I'll never not amplify it. On behalf of Jewel & all the other Black women behind legendary concepts that never get their credit.
Susan B. Anthony was an anti-abortion white supremacist who said she'd cut off her own arm before letting black people vote.
I am begging liberals to do literally any research ever.
“White collar crime” is a euphemism for large-scale theft and criminality on a level that far exceeds what normal people have the means to do. So Eric Adams stealing $10,000,000 is “white collar crime” but stealing a $1,000 purse gets reported as “felony theft” and a “shoplifting epidemic.”
She’s from central New Jersey. She moved to Israel/ occupied Palestine four years ago and is taking part in the ethnic cleaning of the indigenous population because she blames them for attacks that had nothing to do with them.
I’m not sure what black woman experience @andrewschulz has had, but it hasn’t been the real “black girlfriend effect”. To insult black women and described them as complainers & abusive isn’t just untrue. It’s disrespectful. Even worse, James Duncan & Fuhad Dawodu allowing him to say it is more insulting.
Andrew Schultz spoke that way in front of two black men because they allowed him to. They made him comfortable enough to disrespect black women because they didn’t force him to respect them.
My experience is that black women are powerful, beautiful, strong, and supportive. They prioritize black family, community, & culture. They take steps back to push their men, and families forward. So, no Andrew the “black girlfriend effect” is nothing like what you described. I’m just upset that you don’t have enough solid black men around you to tell you differently!
This shit was TRIGGERING and now I’m researching the history of Virginia City, Nevada… That woman said “do you know the history of our city” laughing after they threatened to HANG HIM 🤬😡
A reminder that white supremacy in 2024 isn't only a KKK terrorist wearing a hood—it's also South Carolina Board of Education removing AP African American Studies from its curriculum, but proudly keeping AP European History.
This is how systemic racism continues to thrive today.
😡 SICKENING: A homeless Chicago man who lives in a tent explains how he can’t access the resources that migrants access. He can’t even get on warming buses when he’s cold! Yet, we spend millions everyday on shelter, food, healthcare, childcare etc for migrants who just arrived.
being willing to get run over by a fucking bus because you that badly want innocent people to starve is a level of evil so deranged i can't wrap my head around it
