@LNallalingham@grok is it true that in the UK "foreign nationals can access housing, benefits, and the NHS even if theyโve never paid a penny in tax" ?
@kevsbg@MassacreMitch@GenoVeno73@w_terrence But the qualifications for a pilot are EXACTLY THE SAME no matter what colour your skin is. DEI ensures everyone gets the same opportunities regardless of race. The qualification requires are no different. An example would be anonymising CVs to avoid bias (in either direction).
@kevsbg@MassacreMitch@GenoVeno73@w_terrence The whole point of DEI is to ensure that people are hired based on merit. The requirements to qualify for a pilot are exactly the same, whatever the race or gender. Suggesting a black pilot may not be as qualified as a white one is racist and has no basis in fact.
@JamesMelville Burning wood is nothing like as bad as burning coal or gas. Coal is made up of carbon that has been locked away in the Earth for millions of years and can never be replaced. Trees are only very short carbon stores and can be replaced by planting more trees.
@BarackO472@esjesjesj@RyanGarcia He said he would deport 15 to 20 million. You really think there's that many who are criminals? That's more than the total estimated number of undocumented immigrants.
@packetsniffer99@letoonarmy@JamesBWatt Having gone to a private school, I'm pretty sure very few parents will move their children to state. Most are extremely wealthy and will take the hit - the ones "getting by" are a tiny minority.
@letoonarmy@JamesBWatt Exactly. Private school fees have risen significantly faster than inflation. They've more than doubled in real terms over the last few decades. Yet the numbers attending have stayed pretty much the same. My school was ยฃ2k / term in the 90s. It's now ยฃ10k.
@TheBuzzWaggon @justdave89now @elonmusk Only 37% of the population voted for Brexit, and now a majority want to rejoin, yet we don't get another referendum. However we do get a general election at most every 5 years.
@nouniform@AdelesBells Yes there was still 20m votes to count when this graph was created - so there are expected to be around 157.5m in total compared to 159.7 in 2020. Also the graph uses the classic disinformation technique of not starting the y axis on 0 to skew the apparent difference.
@_imey@JohnLewisEU And most UK farmers still won't pay it either. But the ultra wealthy that buy up land for the purposes of tax avoidance might have to now.
