So apparently, according to the Germans, spending an hour or two alone with your thoughts in the Alps makes you good at building databases.
No Alps around here, but maybe the mountains of Kashmir will do it for me!
@zepphicc@makemytrip Horrible AI, it works for cases like status checking or simple mods, but falls apart for everything else, and no one is testing this stuff
I had to interact with @makemytrip 's customer support today for change of date in my flight ticket.
Such a shitty experience, first they have a voice AI agent that never gets anything done, it just gets stuck in a loop asking for confirmation and does not even considers what you are saying while this is happening.
Then it keeps on insisting I can handle your issue, and does not transfers me to a human.
Then when it does, MMT's customer execs are so busy that I had to wait for 15 minutes just to say hello and then after 5 seconds they put me on Hold again.
For 40 minutes I had to do this and in the end I got a hello again from customer support who then proceeded to cut my call.
Crazy!
If you’re job hunting, I’ve got something for you.
I’ve been in tech recruiting for 10+ years and since I started being active on X last December, I’ve shared a lot of my thoughts and observations around job searches, resumes, interviews, networking, compensation and what I see from the other side of the hiring table.
The problem? They’re scattered across hundreds of tweets and replies. So I’m putting together a job-search repo with the useful stuff I’ve shared, all in one place.
This isn’t a “how to get hired” guru playbook. It’s my experience, observations and opinions from years in tech recruiting. Grok AI helped me pull this together. A lot of what got me to 5K+ on X was sharing these recruiting and job-search insights.
Job searching is subjective. What works for one person, role, company or market may not work for another.
So disagree with me, take what’s useful, ignore what isn’t or ignore this entire thread if it’s not relevant to you.
I’ll keep adding to this thread and pin it to my profile so it’s easy to find.

Programming languages don't matter for the job. Said every blog post, right before the job listing that required exactly one with 5 years of experience in it!
I have an Interview tomorrow with Tower Research and I have no idea what it is about, they just scheduled the Interview and never replied to any of my emails inquiring about the kind of interview.
It went pretty well. The round was a mix of my past projects and DSA.
We spent about 25 minutes on some interesting projects from my last job, then moved to a two-part problem.
Part 1: You're given a list of exchange rates, like USD -> EUR = 0.92. Given a query (s, d), find the rate to convert s to d.
You can model exchange rates as graph, then BFS from s to d, multiplying rates along the path.
Part 2: Each exchange now has a bank fee. Find the conversion path with the lowest total fee.
Same graph, but now it's a shortest-path problem, so Dijkstra.
