Having a GPU crash in your DX12 or Vulkan app on AMD card? New Radeon GPU Detective (RGD) 1.4 now shows which draw calls were executing shaders during the crash, assembly (ISA) of those shaders, and which instructions were executing (instruction pointer).

So it's official, I'll make a talk for Digital Dragons in May. If you would like to hear about techart/rendering stuff in Frostpunk 2, you can meet me there.
What @trid_one writes is spot on. Not only was it a temptation to go the "usual sequel" route for @frostpunkgame... it probably would have worked out just fine.
Thing is, we don't want 'just fine' at @11bitstudios. We want to stay brave, looking for broader horizons. That means taking risks. Is it worth it? Depending how you define 'worth';) To us it's a resounding 'yes' if we're creating something worth making. And something worthwhile for our players. So that the game gives them something in return - hopefully something fresh & exciting. I truly believe that over the long run, this creates more value for everyone involved;)
Have to underscore, there's absolutely no problem with having a beef with the game for what it could do better - Lord knows the backlog of stuff we want to improve and add almost has no end. And seeing all the valid critique just lets us point our guns better at the stuff that 100% needs a touch up. But I'd lie if I said it's not a bit disheartening to read that people dislike the game as a whole and the sole reason being a variant of 'it's not like FP1'. But who am I to judge;)
Thankfully, there's so many of the players that do see the heart and soul of Frostpunk running deep in the DNA of this game - just as we tried to uphold and amplify it in this new form.
I guess that's a long way of saying, thank you so much for your support, and please do keep it coming <3 The winding path into the frostland is by no means at an end;)

The #frostpunk 2 is out. @qoubah and I are so proud!! But the world keeps turning, reminding me that success is one thing, and how we got there is another. I hope that stays with us as a team. Today, we celebrate share all the insane/silly moments from the past four years!
@frostpunkgame It's a bit like Instanced Static Mesh approach, just with Niagaras. If you are interested more in how we are handling particle optimizations in that massive game as Frostpunk 2 than for sure you should visit Paweł Charzyński presentation on #GIC2024 in Poznań
Do you know that in #Frostpunk 2 "medium" city is made of 11k to even 100k unique controlled particle emission sources (like smokes, flares, etc)? It wouldn't be possible with a typical Niagara approach, but we have made a custom Niagara batching solution. More in comments...
@frostpunkgame We have made "batching" solution that uses a single Niagara emitter per effect type and it's propagation is spreaded to selected emission points. In short, we put where emissions should happen and the system gathers points to emit them on certain positions with certain params.
Frostpunk 2 has excellent reviews, with 97% of our partners recommending the sequel.
