@TylerMKing If you don’t want to move it (on a majority of applications) you can run it straight from where it is. It’s so simple it’s seems stupid when you have years of formatting telling you that you should “install” an app. You’re not installing anything, you’re just putting on your Mac
@TylerMKing It is “weird” indeed coming from Windows. But I really believe that because we’re formatted to think there should be an “installation process”.
By your standard, there should a confirmation every time you move a file. On the Mac this is all your doing. Moving a “file”.
@dhh@dhh what do you think is holding Linux from becoming truly user friendly?
Linux is amazing… when it works. But inevitably requires some terminal digging, online searching, and manual problem solving. All things that the average mainstream user will not do.
@eyedesyn I don't think Blender's UI is that bad since the redesign.
It breaks Jakob's Law, in some instances, when you're coming from Adobe or Maxon. But that's not necessarily bad. MS Office UX is terrible coming from design tools, but users for whom it's their primary tool love it.
@Oddernod This is so true. Add to that managing up at the same town you’re managing down. Make sure your designers are happy and so are your clients. When sometimes they have the exact opposite opinions.
@Oddernod@MohoAnimation This is amazing. The hard thing for motion design - and the reason AE continues to rule - is that we need a variety of techniques.
Many specialty tools do a much better job at "something" than AE, but none has the same level of versatility and integration.
@henningsanden It’s been in photoshop for years. But I only knew how to rotate it using the clone source panel. The shortcut makes it easier.
BTW the clone source panel has a couple of additional options too, like mirror, scale, etc
@jasonfried Hey @jasonfried. As you work on this new calendar here’s an idea that has always been missing for me.
Create the ability to add reminders to a calendar. Meaning, I want something on my calendar that is a single point in time, not an event that lasts a period of time.
Blender Foundation and the online developers community are proud to present Blender 4.0 🚀
Light Linking, AgX, new Principled BSDF, Geometry Nodes Repeat Zone, USD improvements, and so much more!

Big news today! You no longer need C4D to access all of our assets! This marks our first step in creating a more universal experience in Plus where you can use our PBR textures, models, etc anywhere. We even have material importers that will assemble your PBR textures in Blender Houdini and Unreal Engine. But obviously use them wherever you want! Whoo-hoo! @erindale_xyz Any idea if it would be possible to generate a voronoi shatter in Geometry nodes. Bonus points if the resulting pieces can be used in a rigid body system. #b3d#VFX
