@DaraghCassidy A humongous development of public housing, none of which is affordable, cost rental, or first home scheme. We’re trying to get homes built for workers in the area. Ideally akin to this development for essential workers.

A cautionary tale of where Dún Laoghaire is heading if we don’t build more homes for working people, properly manage the drug treatment facilities, and take a harder approach on crime.

@dunlaoghairecra@LorraineHallFG@dlrcc@barrymward Thanks for all this info. It’s astonishing to think that DLRCC would bring this problem upon themselves. Its imperative to put ordinary working residents looking for housing first. Looking forward to Nov meeting. When will you have a date?
@dunlaoghairecra@LorraineHallFG@dlrcc Do we know what the status is with the Boylan Centre? No update on the DLRCC planning site. Can we organise another town hall or even protest the lack of housing for workers? It’s a disgrace. @barrymward can you help us here?
@DCC_help the pavement in Rathmines after “repairs” this evening. When will this properly be finished with stone / concrete pavers to match what is there? . Leaving it like this is a disgrace.
@DaraghCassidy It’s to do with sun paths and how much light can enter the street for adjacent buildings. It’s a basic tenant of urban design, but I agree it’s often finished ugly in Ireland.
@LorraineHallFG I was in Greystones over the weekend and the difference in a community that doesn’t suffer from an over concentration of social housing is remarkable. Safe, clean streets. Nobody roaring or attacking people. Just a civilised society. We must resist these people that ruin ours.
@LorraineHallFG Social housing = anti-social behaviour. We have far too much in Dún Laoghaire and plans to build more will only import more problems. It has to stop. We’ve had enough. We welcome affordable housing schemes for those contributing to society not those making our lives hell.
@joehas@rayofoghlu BS. Disrupting communities to maximise profit and gain is not a use case. Drones are already extensively used in medical contexts and are a brilliant advancement. But we don’t need our skies to become a traffic corridor for personal items to the gain of more toxic tech bros.
@rsstafford@MannaAero Indeed my back yard is for my peace and quiet, not a traffic corridor for another tech bro looking to wreck communities for profit. Drones for medical contexts are a great idea. For everyday disturbance delivering personal purchases- good riddance.
@Clearpreso Nobody wants the skies polluted now too. Nobody wants this additional noise in their environment. Nobody wants this and the councils need to ban them outright. Sick of tech bros ruining the world. Enough. Resist.
@IrishRail how can I ensure my seat booked is going forward and not backwards? Seats going backwards cause me incredible motion sickness leading to vomiting on the train.
@IrishRail booked seats on the 12:45 Westport train with the understanding seats were facing forward. Seats are backward which causes us motion sickness. How can we prevent this on future bookings? Is the direction of the train no longer shown when you select a seat?
@dunlaoghairecra Really hoping the point can be made that this needs to be a MIX of housing typologies and residents, to best ensure a diverse and successful housing scheme. 100% social housing is never good for those that live there, nor the neighbourhood and nor wider community.
