My thoughts on Dubai.
Dubai is here to stay. I do have property there but I didn’t just buy Dubai property because they claim it’s “safe”. The Middle East has been “unstable” since I was a kid. I remember when Operating Desert Storm was in play? Then in 2003 the Iraq War? Then Libya? Then the constant threats between the US/Iran? I think most tend to forget these conflicts happened.
Dubai emerged as one of the safest places on the planet afterwards. Also there aren’t many places where the uber wealthy can feel completely safe. There’s also NO woke agenda, very little theft, no drunks walking around, no homeless shooting up fentanyl, no school shootings all while you can park your businesses there with almost zero taxes.
Where else will the wealthy want to go? I’m not sure. Maybe I’m wrong and it’s all over for Dubai but I don’t think so. If real estate plummets much further I’ll probably purchase more properties.
One other thing people tend to forget is that the US had 2 “planes” hit central New York. There was an initial decline in housing/stocks and then they skyrocketed.
What do you think? Do you agree or am I missing something? I’m genuinely curious.

Show me your books, I'll show you your goals.
Show me your calendar, I'll show you your priorities.
Show me your friends, I’ll show you your future.
Experienced Python devs say: How hard can Pandas be? It's written in Python.
Newcomers to Pandas say: I'm going to use Pandas, so I don't need to learn Python.
Both are wrong.
- you have to learn by doing
- by doing things you do not yet know
- if you do things you do not know, you will screw up
- this is the learning part
conclusions:
- don't be too hard on yourself for screwing things up
- take incremental steps so if you screw up, you survive
