Today our second period Planimal class harvested their misome and pak-choi! We had some interesting results with our roots and measurements! @GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
Our 6th period Planimal class finished planting our misome and pak choi plants today! Everything is comfy and cozy in our growth chamber and now we are just waiting for germination. @GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
6th period Planimal completed their third week measurements today of their @NASA project! Our plants are growing, but we feel that some are smaller than they should be and are moving along slowly. @GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
Today our 2nd period Planimal class conducted our week 3 measurements of our @NASA plants! It’s interesting to see that our GBE 19 and GBE 45 companion plants have exposed roots that seem to be intertwining! @GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
What a sad, but educational, second trial for our misome!
After consulting with a local extension agent, we are currently thinking the plants received the wrong amount of water or nutrients. Could it be that our worms actually caused problems? 🪱
@GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
What’s happening? Could our worm fertilizer be HARMING our misome plants? This week’s measurements brought still larger plants, but we are wondering what deficiencies/toxicities they may be experiencing. @GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
It’s measurement today! After our first round two weeks of growth, we are thinking that our worm tea might not serve as the best type of fertilizer for these plants.
Week 2 Average Height Trial 1 - 15.7 cm
Week 2 Average Height Trial 2 - 12.8 cm

Tomorrow is our first measurement day for our second trial of our misome project through @GrowBeyondEarth and @getMARSfarm! Check out this bird’s eye view of our little fellas 🌱
NASA Misome Trial 2!! Freshmen Madicyn Rupp and Brianna Jentes have taken on the task of conducting our second trial of growing misome using, you guessed it, red wiggler worm tea! #cadillacofworms@GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
Harvest is the theme of the week! Today in Greenhouse Management we harvested some basil so we could do a test run of our pesto recipe that we are making with fifth graders on Monday.
Check out our second period space farmers! Today is HARVEST DAY for our misome that we have been growing for NASA for the past 28 days. @GrowBeyondEarth@getMARSfarm
Today was a measurement day for our @GrowBeyondEarth misome plants! They have nearly DOUBLED in size from last week and we are eager to see how big they will become by week 5 for harvest! #scienceiscool#nasaplants
