My few cents.

The anger of students over repeated paper leaks is completely justified. Every loophole in the examination system must be plugged, and the country needs a system where such fraud simply cannot happen.

One important fact often gets lost in the political noise. India's first dedicated central law against paper leaks and organised exam fraud came only in 2024 through the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, inacted by @narendramodi Government.

The government is now proposing to make it even stronger, with stricter punishments, higher penalties, and fast track courts for quicker justice.

That is where the public debate should remain focused, on building an examination system that is transparent, accountable, and secure.

Calls for the Education Minister's resignation, without any evidence of direct involvement, shift the conversation away from the real issue. Who serves in the Cabinet is ultimately the Prime Minister's decision and prerogative. Accountability matters, but it should be based on facts, not political pressure.

When protests are driven as much by politics as by genuine concern, the first demand often becomes a resignation instead of lasting reform.

Students deserve more than symbolism. They deserve an examination system they can trust.

If the government uses the outrage over the NEET paper leak as an opportunity to reform India's education system, it could become a defining policy moment.

1. Conduct an independent audit of the quality, infrastructure, faculty strength, governance, and research standards of Central Universities, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other centrally funded institutions.

2. Develop benchmarks and incentive-based frameworks to improve the quality of state-run schools and universities, while respecting the role of states.

3. Introduce stringent anti-paper leak legislation with swift investigation, fast-track trials, asset seizure, and lifetime debarment for those involved in examination fraud.

4. Modernize examination security using encrypted digital workflows and stronger accountability at every stage.

5. Invest heavily in teacher recruitment, training, and continuous professional development.

6. Reduce the excessive dependence on a single high-stakes examination

That Joshi fellow's Merc mileage drop may have multiple reasons including idling and adulterated fuel, but the mileage drop is a documented truth. The drop may vary, just as mileage does. YMMV.

The component damage is documented for non-compliant vehicles. Even the promoters accept it.

It's true that people will eventually accept it all. But not providing E10 for E10 vehicles and pure petrol for older vehicles will have a cost. If E20 is safe for E10 and older vehicles, why did India ask manufacturers to make E20 compliant vehicles?

Ethanol blending has benefits. Nobody is arguing against that. The government needs to be transparent about the cost as well. That's how we will know that it was in the national interest.

Transparency requires that the government reveal the ARAI test data. Critics ke munh par maaro woh report.

And finally, to those saying we don't import ethanol for fuel blending. You are right. We import ethanol for industrial use. You are right again. The point is we import ethanol for industrial use because we now blend our produce with fuel. Find some other useful defence.

After 15 years in power, the BJP continues to attribute many policy failures to Congress. Ethanol blending, for instance, was promoted very aggressively by Gadkari ji as a major solution. On multiple occasions, he asserted that ethanol blending would not reduce the lifespan or performance of vehicles, and suggested that many critics were acting with vested interests.

When public criticism intensified, the responsibility is quickly shifted to Congress. This pattern raises concerns about accountability. Integrity, intellectual honesty, empathy, and the willingness to acknowledge mistakes are becoming rare in BJP.

@narendramodi ji, many of us would have appreciated a simple acknowledgment: "We miscalculated on ethanol. We take responsibility and will correct course." Owning mistakes strengthens leadership; it does not weaken it. If the country's top leadership avoids accountability, it becomes difficult to expect honesty, integrity, and courage from leaders further down the chain.

This is reflected in controversies ranging from the NEET scam to allegations of land-related irregularities, poor road quality, potholes, and corruption in infrastructure projects.

But contractors pay netas their cut money & encroachers who cause traffic jams are vote banks of netas. We are told ethanol is “good for the environment” but to produce 1 litre of ethanol it takes 2500-3500 litres of water at sugar mills or above 10,000 litres per litre at rice mills! This when the country is facing water shortage. How is this good for anyone except the netas? Most ethanol distilleries are owned by netas, for example Nitin Gadkari ji’s son! And please tell me how is Gadkari ji announcing ethanol policy when he is neither the Petroleum Minister, nor Agriculture Minister, nor Industry Minister? We the people pay full price for our vehicles + road tax + insurance + tolls + GST on spares… and in return we get pathetic roads, terrible infrastructure & now forced ethanol-blended fuel that kills mileage & damages engines. Meanwhile netas with direct conflict of interest are minting crores & crores and the poor hardworking honest INDIAN suffers as most Indian vehicles aren’t even E20 compatible yet Nitin Gadkari ji is forcing these ethanol norms on us as if we are lab rats!
