Interesting to see how the inclusive institutions of India have begun to intervene in assuring the survival of the nation as well as its future preparations for virus outbreaks. #whynationsfail https://t.co/hBe8H57oJk
Times seem similar to the rise of the industrial revolution in terms of innovation. Aspiring entrepreneurs should take advantage of the state of standstill to develop products with the sort of effect the industrial revolution brought. #whynationsfail https://t.co/60CdE8fcaE
Interesting to see how inclusive financial institutions in the US have lent a hand to small business in times of economic uncertainty. Will small firms in countries with more exclusive political institutions survive this rough period? #whynationsfail https://t.co/E2Iv91zuXB
@RamirezgAntonia I think the demand is due to society knowning that the price of steel will go up, so it is more beneficial for them to buy products like cars now.
@Andrew_Scott_M@nperry_7 I agree with andrew and another thing that remains in colonial countries is language and tradition since most colonial powers wanted to have everyone be like them
@jocelynbachmann I have a question regarding the u.s and Mexico relations. Will Mexico be forced to pay for the wall or was it just one of those things that trump says.
@RamirezgAntonia I think that the more tarrifs he adds now will benefit the economy my the short term. However, It seems like he is not worried about the long term future of the u.s's economy which could be affected by tarrifs.
@DelLonardi I think it can be seen both ways. His legitimacy can be hurt by being anti-globalization but it could be improved by him sticking to his word. Next his re-election could improve since the people who voted for him wanted a wall, but could worsen by limiting people entering the US.
@DelLonardi I feel like trump think only about the benefits that could come from his actions, but doesnt realize the repercussions that could surpass the benefits. A great example would be the steel trade war with China.
@RamirezgAntonia@a_novaspena I agree with what you say and adding on to it, it absurd that the use of false information by both russia and the u.s has led to a discussion on which country has been lying, which is a hypocritic move since they both know each one has lied. This should not be happening in govs.
@Andrew_Scott_M He might be recieving gains throigh international trade by using this method, however, if this is to come out bad he will sertaintly be loosing through a trade war. This is a risky move that he should not have the need to make. They are in a stable position regarding trade.
@jadhwanidrishti Reading these articles it seems like there is no connection with the government personel and mr trump. What ever they tell him about foreign policies goes in one ear and comes oit tge other. I think this could harm the us and it is not hiw governments should be run.
@jadhwanidrishti The u.s trade deficit has come from the lack of U.S products. If you see the products that Americans use, they are mainly foreign. With this comes the desire of reducing the trade deficit due to nationalism. How do you nationalism of Trump has an impact on trade deficit actions?
@Andrew_Scott_M It is important for the US to lower the trade deficit, however, there are other ways to solve this other than tariffs. while tariffs promote exportation and US manufacturing it also affects exportation where foreign countries are more reluctant from buying US products.
@TheNidoWay I think that what we mentioned in class about relevancy is very important. It is true that things could get worse if he doesn't meet with Kim Jong Un. However, his first mistake was accepting the meeting. by doing this you are immediately giving North Korea importance.
@a_novaspena@DelLonardi@nperry_7 I have a different opinion on your point of view. I fell that if Trump is to impose these tariffs in an attempt to reduce the trade deficit and they weren't to work out. these would be valid options that wouldn't be affected by the views of the president.
@Andrew_Scott_M the most important thing is that it is impossible to target one country in a trade war. This is important because it relates back the interdependency and how if one country is targeted than many will also have repercussions. This is why Trump should rethink his idea of tariffs.
