Wanted to share one of the most important, hardest stories I’ve ever written.
I appreciate the students who trusted me to convey their experiences of April 30-May 2. Please give it a read.

Here is another statement by UCLA faculty, this time from members of the Dept of English condemning the university’s police raid on the student protest encampment & its inaction against violent mobs attacking student protesters.
2/2 Students are not letting people who are not part of the campus community/their movement inside, which has created crowds of people from greater LA and conflict on the periphery. But these people are not to be confused with the student demonstrators.
The violence wrought by counter protesters at UCLA’s peaceful Palestine Solidarity Encampment is absolutely despicable.
**PSA**: if you see videos of violence on pro-Israel protestors from outside the encampment, note that that is certainly unaffiliated with the encampment.

Policies introduced by Finland’s right-wing government are taking aim at collective bargaining. From truck drivers to schoolteachers, workers across Finland are responding by grinding the country to a halt with a series of nationwide strikes. https://t.co/dAIBJ79asI
When a 2,000-pound bomb detonates, it creates a blastwave that can harm people up to 3,000 feet away. Our Visual Investigation suggests Israel routinely dropped this bomb in the area south of Wadi Gaza - the place it had repeatedly told civilians in Gaza to move to for safety. https://t.co/Ir7GkmvIJI
How is it possible that no major mainstream news outlets have reported on Antonio Negri’s death!? It has been four days. This man was one of the most significant philosophers of the last century… I only found out because I happened to read e-flux this morning.
The conversation between Hans Ulrich Obrist and Antonio Negri was originally published in the September 2010 issue of e-flux Journal. Antonio Negri died on December 16 at the age of ninety.

This comes after UCSD pressed charges against 59 workers who protested peacefully following the UC's retaliation against folks who participated in our strike. The UC is clearly trying to make an example out of San Diego. *We will not be intimidated.* 2/2
Last night, UCSD academic workers caught *felony* charges for writing messages in washable sidewalk chalk at a peaceful protest over the UC's failure to uphold our new contract last month.
Tell UC to drop these ridiculous charges! - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/nq2TUR6d5D 1/2
