Fear-setting is Tim Ferriss's exercise to beat fear paralysis by defining worst cases instead of goals.
Do it on paper with three columns:
**Define** — Pick a scary decision. List every nightmare scenario in detail. Rate impact (1-10) and likelihood.
**Prevent** — For each fear, note steps to stop it happening.
**Repair** — If the worst hits anyway, list ways to recover, fix damage, or get back on track.
Add: Likely benefits of acting (rate them). Cost of inaction — where will you be in 1, 5, or 10 years if you do nothing?
Most fears prove temporary and unlikely. Inaction often costs more. Do it monthly or quarterly like Tim.
Sleep loss does not have to be extreme to show up on the body.
Cutting sleep by about 80 minutes per night for six weeks added roughly one pound of body weight and half a centimeter to waist circumference.
Taking value from your vanity as you age is a losing battle.
Your looks are a depreciating asset.
Your mind is an appreciating asset.
Invest your self-worth wisely.
To the Americans:
I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.
And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:
You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.
This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.
Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.
This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.
But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.
This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.
And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:
Thank God for the United States.
Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.
Long may your admirable country dominate the world.
Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.
May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.
Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.
Thank God for the USA.
Happy 250th.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
President Trump posts AI "Dr. Trump" video with celebrity testimonials of how they overcame TDS:
"The treatment is simple: turn off fake news, say your prayers, and if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me, and you're going to see a remarkable difference." 😂
How to breathe in between sets to enhance focus & recovery:
"The physiological sigh is a deep inhale through the nose to maximally inflate your lungs, and then a second very brief inhale, and then a long exhale until lungs empty."
"Two inhales through the nose and a long extended exhale through the mouth is the fastest way to shift your nervous system from sympathetic drive to more parasympathetic drive."
"The more you can shift yourself from alert to calm in between sets, the more energy and focus you can devote to exertion during your work sets."
"If you do one physiological sigh at the beginning of the rest period, you are going to effectively shift your nervous system in the direction you want it to go."

People think pride is being full of yourself because of accomplishments, and of course that can be true.
More often is people tell themselves they are worthless, they lean into despair.
That’s also pride. “I’m unfixable.”
In reality everyone is fucked up. Not a big deal.
