this might be one of my new favorite ways to end the workday 💛 little man might like the hammock more than me 🐶
Yesterday he communicated that he wanted to be let in the hammock even though I wasn’t in it and then proceeded to chill for a half hour swinging while I watered 🌻
What are your favorite questions to ask or that you’ve been asked in an interview?
Doesn’t have to be for your current job. I just love hearing what sort of things people enjoy being asked about and finding common themes are differences among various personality types.
@matthew_haas_ That’s really comforting to hear! Interview in general aren’t stressful for me (negotiations kinda stress me out) but we all have some friends with horror stories out there and I hope I don’t have to experience those 😅
@matthew_haas_ I’ve only seen academic ones from the outside and they seem so stressful 😂 I am quite thrilled that my first “real” interview felt so natural and comfortable.
@SouthSoundShane 😂 I know this is crazy but I actively choose one morning a week/two weeks to just exist w/o glasses/contacts just to force myself to learn how to recognize things without help. I can’t see facial expressions whatsoever so talking to me is fun when I can’t read context cues 😅
@ZacharyRKing Thank you! I was feeling a little uncomf giving a $ range when I only have a broad understanding of the expected role (everything in the description but that doesn’t always include everything they want you to do) + cost of living in other parts of the US is not like MN
@matthew_haas_ From the email, it sounds like the phone interview is with the current project manager/scientist. Do you expect that to change the convo much? And are there other questions not skill related they might ask that I should be thinking about?
@CameronMMurray I got a phone interview offer less than 4 hrs of submitting my resume to the hiring manager/project manager and feel like I haven’t had time to think about these things yet (especially for a location I wasn’t previously considering).
@CameronMMurray I was told to expect to be asked how much do I expect for a salary and that’s what started this whole thing off. I’m trying to think what other questions, like that, could I be asked that aren’t directly job/skill related at this stage that I should be thinking about.
@CameronMMurray Thanks! I was just about to ask for examples. My struggle right now is that I both like the job but have some hesitations with surrounding factors (loc/salary/etc) and I’m not sure how to balance my own concerns with not wanting to ruin my potential chances
@BenMansfeld I wonder if it could be age of tree. @TreeFruitRob had said that we can see large (and usually not as flavorful) apples in managed systems the first few years or production when I asked about the disappointing Cosmics in Mn a few years back.
