@TheCodeTherapy@bgolus@iquilezles@XorDev Thanks for the heads-up! I just took a look at the Shader Playground site and it seems to be working for me - is it working for you now?
A few more $5 sponsors would get me to break-even on the Azure hosting bill, which would make this more sustainable for the long term (hosting bill is £70/month, current sponsors generously provide ~£50 of that).
We also released new developer tools: Game Porting Toolkit and Metal Shader Converter. The links to the downloads can be accessed from here: https://t.co/oJfXBcJ18f.
Occasional reminder - Shader Playground is possible because of the generous support of these people: @aras_p, @sheredom, @KornnerStudios, @TheAnimator.
If Shader Playground is useful to you please consider adding your name to that prestigious list :) https://t.co/QdBR5O7YSN
Let's talk about some of the recent improvements to Unity! I'm not talking about the big, flashy things you already know about but the small changes we were able to sneak into the changelog. I'll look at 2023.1 beta stuff but most of it also backported as far back as possible :)
Visual Studio 2022 17.6 Preview 2 now has additional integrations with Unreal Engine. Unleash the full potential of your game creation with UE Log Streaming, UHT Code Analysis and HLSL Tools by @_tim_jones_ . #UnrealEngine#cpp#gamedev https://t.co/zZgmQC7BH1
@mlrdev Thanks Marcelo! You've been an important part of this too; you helped a lot with my questions about "fun" parts of HLSL syntax, back in the day. It's 7 years since we first chatted about HLSL parsers, times goes quickly!
@Alecazam123 No, just Visual Studio for Windows. Many of the underlying text editor APIs are now shared, which is great, but there's still enough different that it would require specific and non-trivial effort to support VSMac.
Looking for a new challenge? Come work with the best team at Unity (yeah, I'm biased). We're bringing the modern .NET world to all Unity users (and platforms!).
