Overall, despite the jokes online, russian air defense likely did an exceptional job, but such a large, composite air attack is impossible to fully defend against and likely tens of drones hit their targets. This should be a warning for the west who thinks a fancy AD or two will protect them.

@petrovbg2 @AndreiBtvt Sure, but ATGMs have a much higher probability of hit than a recoilless rifle. Some of the remote control ATGMs also adress this issue by having 2 or more ready to fire missiles - like Belarus shershen in some of its variants

@dimafromnsk4 @ArinaTrueLove С чего это? Все зенитные ракеты в совке делали на территории РСФСР, с-300 и с-200 в Ленинграде, те что поменьше в Кирове, Саратове и других городах. В УССР никогда не делали зенитных ракет, там собирали баллистические и космические ракеты, для ЗРК делали только радары

Fun part here is that all the Soviet manuals clearly stated - put the safety pin first, then cut the wire. Because if you try that in reverse, 9 times of 10 you'll be blown to bits. How could such terrible mistakes even appear in the official US Army manual?
