First #30DayMapChallenge map: all recorded road traffic casualties in Great Britain, 1979-2022. Highlights issues with coordinates in early years and wide geographic spread of road danger.
@WorkRestYoga@LiveableWells@LBC@EJWardNews Prioritising cars over other forms of transport in residential areas has been catastrophic for all our communities. Imagine the freedom we could give our children - & with it good mental & physical health - if they weren't at risk of being hit by a ton of fast-moving metal.
@jo_saunders1@LBC@EJWardNews@LambethLabour The biggest piece of research conducted so far on impact of LTNs is an average 0.7% increase in traffic on boundary roads, 37% decrease within the LTN, overall a significant reduction in polluting traffic. https://t.co/ieub3mm4ZW
Good news - there are now 77,000 fewer of the most polluting cars and vans on London's roads than there were in June. 👍 #AirPollution#CleanAirZone https://t.co/DXw51b5JGp
Although there is likely to be another downpour at lunchtime, all forecasts suggest showers should be over by 3.
Come to @HillsideGdns in your wellies for some 🎃Hallowe'en 🧙🏿♀️fun.
A meeting of the @streathamaction transport group has been arranged to collect feedback on the SW LTN, just 10 days into an 18 month trial.
We believe that the timing is a deliberate attempt to stoke bad feeling and to divide our community.
For that reason we will not attend.
Lewisham's solo LTN (so far) was quite controversial when it went in. Latest data shows: pollution down, bus journey times not impacted, speeds down, injuries from collisions down, motor traffic levels down. There's a lot of noise about LTNs, but they broadly work...
Sorry to see that @prattsandpayne1 is due to close. This will be a sad loss to many people in Streatham.
We wish them well and hope for new owners to continue the running of a pub/bar/restaurant in the unit soon.
Data from New York City shows that prioritising pedestrians on shopping streets helps boast business.
Mastercard data show an extra $3m was spent when 11 blocks of 5th Avenue was pedestrianised & open to bikes - 6.6% more than nearby shopping streets.

Work to reinstate Leigham Court Rd road surface after @thameswater emergency repairs is now complete.
Tarmac is setting nicely.
TW's traffic management contractor has been notified and hopefully will be along shortly to allow reopening before tonight's rush hour.
As I understand it, I think we will be getting a zebra & cycle crossing at the junction of Christchurch Road and Hillside Road. TfL are working up plans. A good walking/cycling link between Streatham Hill & Tulse Hill and great for local school kids crossing the South Circular.
💥NEW SCHOOL STREET DATA SHOWS MASSIVE DROP IN AIR POLLUTION💥
Data from Mossbourne Riverside Primary shows new school street ensures kids breathe cleaner air throughout the day.
London now has 500+ school streets - with more coming all the time. 💚💚💚
