The starcruiser designers are really out there saying I didn't get included in the story because carrying a camera was some kind of party foul?? Possibly craziest excuse yet
People here are always so baffling. They’re complaining about TWO different categories. Like it’s Ryan fault he got nominated in supporting ACTOR, but Margot was snubbed in LEADING ACTRESS. Like be serious. You know one does not have to do anything with the other.
Hey Arnold’s Mr. Hyunh was voiced by Baoan Coleman, a Vietnamese refugee & when show creator Craig Barlett brought the idea of Mr. Hyunh having to give up his daughter in ‘Arnold’s Christmas’, Coleman’s response was
“You know what, I was there.”
“That one session, we had Baoan do his whole monologue about giving up Mai,” Bartlett said. “I just remember kind of huddling down and getting smaller and shutting my eyes and listening to it. And, we cried and cried. … Man, I was a wreck.” - Craig Barlett
The QRTs are driving me insane. No, the king is not “based” here.
The king is defending his decision to inadequately solve a problem HE created by becoming the arbiter of people’s wishes in the first place.
People are acting like him being like “I decide!!” is some cop out to make him villain coded when it’s the entire point. He has this power, and is using it to control the people he is ruling over. He uses the term “willingly” about people giving up their wishes to deflect from his own responsibility for creating the “wish granting” system in the first place.
Maybe the King should use his magic to create a system that makes people feel empowered to grant their own wishes? Instead of perpetuating a system that assures his spot as a literal God king?
I’ll make a comment on how media literacy is dead, but you don’t even need to look deep to see what’s wrong with Magnifico. Asha spells it out for the audience
"Lemon, by now you've seen the Mean Girls musical trailer."
"Musical? They didn't sing once."
"No one actually likes musicals, it's called Wonkaing. You advertise all the non-musical parts of the musical."
"Wonka is a musical?"
"Don't let that get out, we can't have a panic."
Remembering the first time I knowingly encountered the befuddling thing I would eventually know as MAGA.
It was 2008, on Facebook.
It was my old college buddy, Stove Minivan.

SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher: "How they plead poverty that they are losing money left and right when they give $100 millions to their CEOs."
“If we don’t stand tall right now, we are all going to be in jeopardy of being replaced by machines”
