Umar (RA) was the second Caliph after the demise of Rasulullah (SAW). Before Rasulullah's passing, he prophesied that many good things would transpire, and indeed, these events unfolded during Umar's Caliphate.

As Umar's own death drew near, he frequently recited two supplications. The most notable one was: "Oh Allah, grant me martyrdom in Your cause and let me die in the city of Your Prophet," meaning, "Let me be killed and die in Madinah."

Hafsah and Abdullah would often question Umar, saying, "How can you expect to die as a martyr in Madinah when battles no longer occur there?" Umar's response was, "If Allah wills it, it will happen."
