Hi! Nice to meet you. We're digital producers with the Atlantic Digital Optimization Team (DOT), and we work with 37 Gannett outlets across 5 states: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. You can also call us another name now: the Atlantic DOT Guild. [1/8]
We've raised over $12,000 for our Pittsburgh Post-Gazette strikers so far!!🙌
But we still have a ways to go before we reach our $50,000 goal. Any amount matters, use this link to donate: https://t.co/v7B8MEA27p
Our journalists can’t afford to live in the communities they cover, because Gannett won’t give raises or approve contracts that pay living wages. Invest in your journalists and invest in news, Gannett! @GannettUnion@nyguild
Like the rest of NJ, the Rutgers roots in our unit (and @GannettUnion) run deep. Many of us learned journalism from RU faculty, adjuncts and part-time lecturers like the ones with @ruaaup@ruaaup_ptl who are on strike right now. #RUonStrike
Okay, @northjersey. Though as a subscriber, I think today is also a great day to pay @melanieanzidei, @MegBurrow, @Colleenallreds and the rest of The Record staff more. | From the Editor: Now's a great time to subscribe to .NorthJersey.com https://t.co/GDy3vwMbRS
hi. members of @nyguild are uniting to address critical issues affecting trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming workers in our newsrooms. read our statement and, if you’re in the guild, join us to build a better future: https://t.co/zjISb7wnqT
On this day in 2021, we unionized to fight for the future of quality journalism in the desert — but since then, @Gannett's proposals have shown little interest in that mission. That must change.
Today, on our 2nd birthday, we're walking out in demand of a fair contract ASAP.✊
THREAD: In July, @danny_logiudice asked for a well-deserved raise. He's not just a great local sports reporter, but his work is successful, according to Gannet's own metrics.
Danny's been working for APP & MCJ since 2015.
He makes $37,000 per year.

NEW: Employers were charged with violating federal labor law in nearly 40% of union elections—and those are just the ones we know about.
Using @NLRB data, we analyzed the charges, which include firings, retaliation, and changing work terms. https://t.co/1iL1sM1Odd
Life as a DOT producer: My outgoing supe thanked the night staff (including me) for doing a good job. He wold hear of some breaking news, hop on the system, and see that it was already taken care of. "I solve problems," I said. "I may not know the ins and outs of everything, 1/
Gannett is once again pulling the same nakedly anti-labor move it pulled on the @MidwestDOTGuild, laying off people in the midst of their union election
This company is afraid of its labor, and they couldn’t be handling it in a worse way. Solidarity forever, @ReviewedUnion ✊
This morning, Reviewed employees were blindsided by the unilateral announcement of yet another round of restructuring measures handed down by Gannett and our management.
Striking works. Fort Worth journalists get a contract and $50,000 salary floor for new hires: https://t.co/ctH0FDUDfh #UnionStrong@appmcjguild@a_dotguild
When newsrooms say producers perform “DOT magic,” this thread is an example what they mean: Beyond our regular work, we’re the go-to problem solvers. And yet Gannett thinks we’re expendable because of basically one flawed metric?
Life as a DOT producer: Every so often, the programs we use at work get upgraded or changed. What happens is that stuff that was created under the old program / version gets lost or is unusable (we have very little photos dating back only 10 years, for example.) ( 1/
I’m an editor at Gannett. This week, I’m on mandatory furlough. That means anything I post here is from me and doesn’t represent my employer.
To wit: Companies should pay their employees what they agreed to pay them.
