@sparkotronic It’s both, i.e. worse than before. We won’t rejoin because the goldilocks conditions we had are no longer possible, our best bet is regulatory alignment via membership of the SM & CU, that will stem the bleeding although it won’t fix everything. Much more pain is likely first.

@sparkotronic Very few voters understood the issues or what was at stake, which is why a tory clique and their offshore funders pushed for such a referendum. You’ll notice they don’t shriek for referendums and the ‘will of the people’ to prevail on such issues as a wealth tax or voting reform.

@PennyMordaunt You missed out a fact. Water privatisation took place in 1989, not yesterday. That’s 32 years, of which 19 have been under Tory or Tory-dominated govts.

Why haven’t the water companies used their profits to take the steps you describe as being required long before now?
