@chairwoman_H people that are stating this things are not canon are only doing it to pick and choose what they think the story is. Since Square started adding side stories to their other franchises they are not able to not retcon things. Look at Kingdom Hearts.
@chairwoman_H I want to point out one thing, I have nothing but praise for Hamaguchi ability to create a game with extremely fun gameplay. So far that has been what's holding my interest in these games so far minus the convoluted plot.
@TheDavidVinc personally I don't think anyone else but for Monolith Soft could handle redoing this game. The vision was never completed. Xenogears in ep. 5 in the series. And the 2nd disc is just a slapped together visual novel.
@TheDavidVinc As much as I would love a Xenogears remake, I think it would be too complicated due to devs now being a part of Nintendo and attached to Zelda games. tbh, I think it would be a smart move for Square to team up with Nintendo to make a remake and to finally finish the series.
@geoffstop@KenMastersUSA I'm assuming that has something to do with sports or some kind of gaming? As someone who works on broadcast records we usually have sony lavs and in-ear monitors because we record on sound controlled studios.
@chairwoman_H@mlwjrpg this is the kind of person that applies for a job and puts on their resume that they won an Oscar and you look at the credit of the movie and they are listed as the PA or Special Thanks or not at all. (This actually has happened)
@chairwoman_H In the last couple of years there has been a push to preserve game source code. I actually attended the SIGGRAPH talk about this. https://t.co/x31ddlOvEo
@chairwoman_H So the source code being lost has never been confirmed. Yosuke Matsuda admitted in 2019 to Game Informer that some older games' coding where lost due to no archival practices (which is extremely common) but didn't list FF7 or FF8. Which the online community claims both are lost.
@oathgate1@ffSteeD27 The devs are calling what is happening 'sekaisen.' Once I read that I started to understand what they where trying to do. They are using the same ideas as Steins;gate's converging points, Alpha and Beta. Where in FF7R the converges are marked by stamp dogs numbers.
