Sui stack is different...

Mysten Labs might be the best-performing team in the crypto and security worlds by rate of practical innovation. It brings fresh ideas that work together like a Swiss watch, but with Richard Mille modernity.

The secret sauce: they’ve done it before at Facebook and Apple, are intimately familiar with the full software stack that can sustain billions of users, and have become a gathering place for some of the world’s top minds in software and security.

Whoever believes a random team could have implemented all of that high-quality software is lying to themselves, it’s tough and requires knowledge you can’t get from books.

Building computer systems that are actually unique, compatible, and provide novel features opens new doors for startups, institutions, traditional industries, and even governments around automation, privacy, transparency, ownership, and speed.

Had a call yesterday with a state leader after launching Seal... the message, after talking to various important folks across the world the last 4 months is very simple:

“Ex-Meta Silicon Valley tech leads have orchestrated the first complete trustless, confidential compute cloud,” where:

• Secrets are gated by Seal.
• Computations are verifiably private with Nautilus.
• Results can be anchored on-chain in Sui.
• Large data is immutable and proof-carrying on Walrus.

Maintaining that stack requires Herculean effort and a stellar team... and that’s only possible when the core research and teams are unique in global terms. There are rare skills that only 10-20 people excel globally, and Mysten Labs might work with half of them.

I haven’t seen that blend of knowledge concentrated in all my 6 years in Silicon Valley, and many of my friends lead teams at the top tech companies leading the Nasdaq.

That explains why some VCs at the first rounds of Mysten raising funds, mostly expressed interest for Mysten Labs shares and not cryptocurrencies necessarily (I was also personally surprised at first glance due to their past history)... but they knew it's not just another crypto firm, Sui stack is different.

I'm not a dev myself but after hearing how the @Mysten_Labs have a built a no-compromise confidential computing stack in @WalrusProtocol, Seal and Nautilus, I'm looking forward to seeing the kinds of use cases that could come out of it.
