LAPD officer Houston Tipping died after a training exercise during which he was beaten & slammed to the ground by other cops. Now his lawyer says at the time he died he was investigating a gang rape by 4 cops, at least one of whom was part of the exercise.
@ninaturner If businesses can’t provide both living wage for their workers and a compelling product at a desirable price, then *those businesses should die*
The answer to permanently reducing crime is by adequately providing these 6 things to every person in the country: water, food, energy, education, healthcare, and housing. If we do that, I promise that it will permanently reduce the amount of murders, robberies, suicides, etc.
I really feel like people are not appreciating that Warren Buffet and his friends are shutting down the supply chain to force Congress to mandate 125,000 railroad workers go to work with no weekends or sick leave.
"A people poisoned by the adulation of royalty can never attain social freedom. The mind accustomed to political kings can easily be reconciled to social kings — capitalist kings of the workshop, the mill, the railway, the ships, and the docks."
–James Connolly, Irish socialist
“We will not blame him for the crimes of his ancestors if he relinquishes the royal rights of his ancestors; but as long as he claims their rights, by virtue of descent, then, by virtue of descent, he must shoulder the responsibility for their crimes.” —James Connolly on George V
As Biden commits to 100K MORE Cops, and still no BBB plan—a reminder that law enforcement *responds* to crime, but a living wage, food & water security, accessible healthcare, & public education *prevent* crime.
If you want safer communities, invest in people, not punishments.
