@_consistent_man My heart is at an 8; my expectations are 2.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@AdamHakimikd I’m trying to understand… how can they predict this when the film doesn’t even premiere for two weeks?

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@chadcluff I’m 100% despairing. This is the end of the road for playoff hopes and probably B12 title hopes as well. Maybe we can have a good bowl game at least. 😔

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@nihilists4jesus And by extension, French Fork, English Fork, German Fork, Portuguese Fork, Brazilian Fork, Mexican Fork, Canadian Fork, Russian Fork, Indian Fork, Chinese Fork, Japanese Fork…

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@MimiZukeii I think the issue is the camera work. It’s very lifeless and simple, so it makes her expressions and movement look incongruous within the scene. Other studios are really pushing their cinematography, so when it’s this static, it reeeally contrasts.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

Hot take: I think the vertical framing theory is more about how we see a lot more perspective pushing in the cinematography of films by Dreamworks, Sony, and Pixar, so fairly standard shot composition like this feels remarkably flat and dull in comparison.

[DiscussingFilm @DiscussingFilm]

First clip from Disney's new animated film ‘HEXED’.

The film follows a girl who discovers she has magic abilities & sets out on an adventure into a magical realm.

In theaters on November 25.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@mutantastronaut Yeah tbh I was surprised by the amount of cursing they got away with! And it would’ve been miles better if the studio committed to a teen-level world rather than putting near-adult characters in a pretty childish environment.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@MesaHimejoshi this is completely unrelated, but the biggest perception flop of the left in recent years is the “hate america” angle. underdiscussed reason why a lot of people swing to the right, imo (“they hate america, but I LOVE america”)

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@nihilists4jesus thank you gnome 🙏

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@nihilists4jesus ok gnome, in all seriousness, how can i best support a sibling who is serving in europe right now? i can tell that his soul’s pretty beaten down and i don’t want to lose my fun-loving bro 😕

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@TaylorPetrey I’m a student at BYU and I think it’s a great place, but I also don’t think it is remarkably prestigious. The acceptance rate has gone up quite a lot. To be frank, I’ve met many students that I’m surprised got in at all. Lower standards? Fewer applicants? Who’s to say.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@fairieteeth The Trump assassination attempt was wiiiild

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@jacksfilms history of the entire world, i guess

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@spellgage @TacomasterTwit Politicians and pollsters reeeeally underestimate how big this issue is for Gen Z.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@gruesomegf This is so silly but there is a total solar eclipse passing right over my hometown in 2045. I gotta live to see it.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@BlakeWeiner I think the comparison is a little different because there was buildup for Covid. People knew that this disease was spreading in Jan and Feb of 2020. 9/11 was just completely shocking, all at once, less predictable, and more immediately devastating.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@NeilNevins United 93 is the most tasteful, well-made 9/11 film out there. I watch it annually on the day, and I’d encourage others to do the same.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@cmkosemen I am in Provo near where Kirk was shot. Haven’t heard anyone talking about it outside of social media.

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@nihilists4jesus I understand psychologically why people feel there is hypocrisy in the situation, especially when they themselves served 24+ months. But on the other hand, it’s so weird to make it into a morality issue. This guy is actively serving a mission. Don’t we want that?

[alyakam @aaaklmy324]

@faireebread It always kills me that Ashleigh Ball has such an amazing singing voice but her characters aren’t narratively those who are really into singing… like Fluttershy is always said to have an amazing voice but I feel like AJ and RD always outdo her
