Cool, High Speed Rail is now dead. Every podunk town is gonna demand we slow it down to give them a stop. A ride between Toronto and Montréal that should be two hours will become four hours with every stop they add. Great way to kill this project by a thousand cuts.
"The traditional console model is to sell hardware at a loss and make up the revenue with subscription services or by selling games that are locked-in to the hardware. We think this can make sense for a single business in the short term but that open ecosystems are better for customers over the long term. PC gaming's history proves this: The openness of the PC gaming space has enabled it to be the primary driver of hardware and software innovation for decades.
The strength of PC gaming is the ability to play the games you want on the hardware you want. Steam Machine is *a* solution to these problems (and we think it's a great one), but it's not the only solution, and we don't want it to be."
Look closely at this post. The drink cans are labelled "Ford". The shirts, pants, flags, signs and hats are all labelled "Ford". This is not an "Ontario" BBQ. This is a Ford promotion for himself, paid for with out tax dollars. This is a disgusting abuse of power and tax money.
Sony faces a proposed class-action lawsuit over how digital purchases are presented on the PlayStation Store.
Plaintiffs argue that buttons like “Buy Now” and “Confirm Purchase” give customers the impression they are purchasing and owning a game, when they are actually receiving a license to use it.
The case is based on a California law that took effect in 2025, requiring companies to clearly inform customers when they are buying a license instead of owning a digital product.
Sony’s checkout page includes a notice stating that purchases are licensed under its Software Product License Agreement, but the lawsuit claims the disclosure is too easy to overlook.
The complaint argues that labels such as “Buy Now” and “Confirm Purchase” can lead consumers to believe they are obtaining permanent ownership.
My understanding of capitalism’s argument for inequitable wealth is that profit is the reward for risk. This negates that and rewards poor choices made by greed-monsters who should face bankruptcy. What about all the talk about personal responsibility?

Carney ran on a platform of massive increases to home construction + social housing, which has now morphed into a massive transfer of public funds to private developers to get dogshit coffin sized condos off their books.
Instead of cheap housing via market correction, we're getting cheap housing via government bailout of corporate developers who plowed investment capital into shitbox condos no one wants to buy. Real estate prices will stay high, and the government will just give the units to whoever it chooses. Probably third world asylum seekers. Literally the worst of all possible policies.
