Rest in Peace Prof Ellis. A privilege to have been taught by him at @kingsmedicine , he will be remembered for his knowledge but also his memorable personality.
Professor Harold Ellis died yesterday aged 100.
Fond memories of undergraduate anatomy at @Cambridge_Uni an inspiration and mentor to generations of doctors
May he rest in peace
What an immense legacy he leaves - from interfaith work to heritage conservation, from hospitals to sustainable development initiatives that turned ancient forts into sensitively designed hotels. Thinking too of the grandfather from whom he took over: Aga Khan III was at the forefront of a modernising agenda for Indiaโs Muslims in the early 20th century - which I wrote about in โBroken Threads.โ
Not just Hackney but all across London. Lime bikes parked in their masses, and often found on the floor. Should have designated parking spots like Santander bikes.
Very interesting poll @UniversitiesUK
3/4 young people interested NHS career *BUT*๐
"vast majority are being put off embarking on healthcare careers because of perceptions of low pay (90%), poor work/life balance (82%), stress of the job (79%), and long working hours (75%)"
Congratulations Eric! A privilege to have been taught by you in the Statistical Methods in Epidemiology module during my MSc. A great teacher that made a challenging topic (at times) as simple as possibly can be!
Congratulations Professor Eric Ohuma, @LSHTM newest Prof of Medical Statistics + Epidemiology!
Dynamic statistical leadership especially for #everynewborn. Honoured to be part of your journey. Excited to learn from you in years ahead.
Join me to congratulate @ohumaeric. Hongera!
@NotabilityApp having issues syncing notes from 2 accounts. Have submitted a form but no response and it has been > 2 weeks. Please can you help. Thank you
Not the first time the goalposts change. First it was changing the number of points a Masterโs with a Merit gave you, then degrees altogether, now posters?! @niraj_doshi
Last minute change from London for SFP now means the hopes of my dream SFP are now gone. No value for any posters or additional degrees for the initial stage and now purely based on how privileged you have been to publish multiple times. ๐ค
First surgical on-call shift โ . Clerking and assessing surgical patients in the hot clinic, and did my first I&D under supervision! Also got to use my Urdu in a consultation with a patient! Very rewarding day.
