I really want to scream in to the void right now, so X. My semester is going well: 4 papers and 4 grants planned & submitted...but I've found so many other things to do and there are 4 weeks left until the new year. #academiclife#AcademicTwitter
For those who say we should be “happy with what we get”, because NIH is taxpayer funded… please see below. Basic research is at the heart of innovation….and the return on investment says it all. Ps NIH is 1/20th the budget of defense.
The wealth gap is this big and two billionaires are endorsing another billionaire…it shouldn’t be this close. Robber barons had the decency to not be this transparent
This is my 15th year at @UofMaryland and I've never seen anything like this: The Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute has openings for *30* (!) tenured and/or tenure-track faculty positions in Artificial Intelligence, broadly defined. https://t.co/qOUF60qpBV
Don’t worry about big gov’t keeping a registry of all gun owners … corporations already got you and has been selling you out for years https://t.co/NSV0SRXQTj
Thinking about how there's a dinky town of 16k pop in the middle of Oklahoma that has a real streetcar because the mayor used states funds to fix their sewer system with an ISTEA grant
And because it's a transit grant this streetcar has to be in daily service every day
@CityofDurhamNC@movesafedurham To start...how about just make sure everywhere there is bus route there is a sidewalk on both sides of the street and crosswalks at every intersection. Yes, some roads will be super wide/long but if a bus goes that way, pretty sure someone wants to cross to get to it.
