There are certainly exceptions. All judgment and all defensive reactions do not come from a place of assumed motives. Sometimes the person has proven their motives through repeated action/speech

@bartbarber @BethMooreLPM I think the confusion is on my end and I was having two conversations. I took the initial tweet to reference celebrity in general, so I was confused by cong’ism being the solution. You were obv referencing celeb pastors, and to that end I think I agree.

Church, how come when picking fights with culture, we don’t fight against the soul-crushing busy-ness that robs us of time/energy to love God and love neighbor?

So many people I know are swept up into a breakneck pace and think it’s just how it is.

@genaLRthomas I think this is prevalent everywhere, and I see it in the church a lot. “Striving for excellence” is not a bad thing - I mean our goal is Christ, but it can be soul crushing to think that everything you do has to be perfect. There is only one Perfect One
