"One of the nicest feelings is having something small to look forward to. Your favorite meal tonight. Coffee tomorrow morning. Seeing a friend this weekend. A trip next month. A new book waiting on your nightstand. You don’t need a huge reason to be excited about life. Sometimes having a few little things ahead of you is enough to make an ordinary week feel special.” ~Unknown

Last night, Americans made a clear call for accountability and affordability.

A body politic cannot recover until its harms have been treated and its wounds have been healed. Crimes against our people and our Constitution must be answered for. The historic abuses of the last two years must be prevented from happening again.

American families should be able to thrive, not just survive. Every child should have the chance to live up to his or her full potential. The American Dream must be more than a mirage.

I am confident Democrats can deliver both, and much more.

The post-Trump era begins now.

Late last night, I spoke with America's acting US Catmander-in-Chief @CatmanderWalz.

We are both very relieved that her country's humans have come to their senses and stopped chasing their tails.

I also thanked her for her service as Minnesota's First Cat.

[Ryan Daigler - Exposing Narcissistic Abuse 🚩🚩 @Ryan_Daigler]

Something many scapegoats may experience but rarely hear about:

When a malignant narcissist encounters a lifelong scapegoat, they will recognize the existing scapegoating framework left by the narcissistic parents and see opportunity like a predator sees a wounded prey.
They typically adopt the abusive narrative, invalidate the scapegoat’s testimony of abuse, reinforce and continue the abuse by proxy.

Why?

• Pre-conditioning: Scapegoats are trained by abusive parents to doubt themselves, over-explain, and tolerate blame. To a malignant narcissist, that looks like low resistance and high control.

• Narrative hijacking: They don’t need to invent a smear. The groundwork is already there. An existing abusive story gives them instant justification and moral cover.

• Predator pattern recognition: They instinctively spot people who won’t be believed, who freeze or fawn, and who are used to being blamed. That signals easy prey.

• Sadism with entitlement: For malignant narcissists there’s often pleasure in exploiting someone already wounded — not just causing pain, but reinforcing a power imbalance while feeling justified.

• Ego reinforcement: Abusing a scapegoat reassures them they’re superior, not defective. It also creates bonding with other malignant narcissists and enablers through shared contempt.

This isn’t coincidence.
It’s opportunistic abuse layered onto an existing wound.
Scapegoats aren’t targeted because they’re weak —
they’re targeted because they were trained to survive abuse, and malignant narcissists exploit that trauma.
Awareness breaks the pattern.

"A GENUINELY TERRIBLE COVER STORY"

@Channel5iveNews went to the island in Albania Ivanka Trump & Kushner claim they walked barefoot on and fell in love with - not only does it not match the description, it isn't even the island they made the deal for for a luxury resort, and it has no roads or power, or even a dock.

Seems pretty clear they made a money-laundering deal with a known drug trafficker with the prime minister's blessing. Hence, hundreds of days of protests.

Here is the fantasy at the center of the white savior story:

That the West arrived at the summit of human development and found the rest of the world partway up the mountain, and generously extended a hand.

Here is what the record shows:

The West arrived at various points in history and, in many cases, pushed people off mountains they had been building for centuries.

Destroyed agricultural systems that had fed populations sustainably for generations.

Replaced diverse, complex economies with single-crop extraction systems designed to feed European industry.

Disrupted governance structures and replaced them with colonial administrations whose explicit purpose was not the welfare of the governed but the efficiency of the extraction.

And then, when independence came, often against fierce Western resistance, looked at the damage left behind and said:

"These people need our help."

The audacity of that sentence.

The perfect, practiced, completely sincere audacity.

They have a habit, the Americans, of re-explaining their defeats in ways that preserve their pride.

Vietnam was lost because Congress cut funding.

Vietnam was lost because the media turned public opinion.

Vietnam was lost because the politicians tied the generals' hands.

Vietnam was lost because of the draft, the protests, the timing, the terrain.

Notice what's missing from every version of this story.

The Vietnamese.

In the American retelling of the American War, the Vietnamese are mostly scenery. They're the jungle and the tunnels and the booby traps and the suffering. They are not agents. They are not the reason. The war is almost always framed as something that happened to America: a national trauma, a generational wound, a political catastrophe.

The people who actually defeated America are largely absent from America's understanding of why they lost.

This is not an accident.

It is much more comfortable to believe you defeated yourself than to fully reckon with the fact that you were beaten.

Beaten by people with fewer resources and less technology, but with military ingenuity, international solidarity, and above all, the most powerful motivation available to human beings:

This is our home. We will not leave it. We will not surrender it. We will outlast you if it takes forever.

That's not a military asset you can quantify in a defense budget.

That's not something you can outspend or outgun.

That's just the truth of what happens when a people mean it.

Vietnam meant it.

The Americans are still, in some fundamental way, not sure they ever did.

You are NOT lazy. You are exhausted from the grief and trauma you’ve endured. Also, one very real response to trauma is shutting down - according to polyvagal theory this is called dorsal vagal shut-down. Its when you freeze and maybe even dissociate, have little energy, and feel stuck. Obviously we are accountable for the healing, AND also, please give yourself GRACE. XO, Dr. Jen

A reminder from Anaïs Nin to every romantic soul out there to seek creative fulfilment first, and then love will follow:

“Don’t wait for it. Create a world. Alone. Stand alone. Create. And then the love will come to you, then it comes to you. It was only when I wrote my first book that the world I wanted to live in opened to me.”

On this day, November 2, 1917, the Balfour Declaration was issued—a promise by a power that did not own the land, offering it to those who had no right to claim it, at the expense of a people who lived on that land, cultivated it, and built their dreams and future upon it.

109 years have passed, and Palestinians are still paying the price of that promise—with their land, their homes, their memories, and their children. Palestine continues to bear the wounds of history, from the Nakba to wars and forced displacement, all the way to the displacement tents of Gaza.

The Balfour Declaration was not merely a political letter. It was a pivotal moment in the tragedy of a people denied their right to self-determination.

We tell this history not to imprison the present in the past, but to understand how we got here, and why the Palestinian right to justice is still awaiting recognition.

Palestine is not a promise written in a letter. Palestine is a people, a land, an identity, and a right that does not expire with time.

Last night Trump said he could have won Vietnam in a week. His plan was “going after Ho Chi Minh City.”

Ho Chi Minh City was Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Our ally. The enemy’s capital was Hanoi. We bombed it.

He called the presidents who fought that war stupid, then explained how he’d have won it by attacking our own side.

58,220 Americans died in that war. Trump got five deferments. Now he’s telling the rest of us how easy it would have been.

He’s had more than fifty years to learn which side we were on. He still hasn’t. That alone should disqualify him from sending anybody else’s kids to war.

Instead, he’s weighing more strikes on Iran after Tuesday. His administration has reportedly considered using the “mother of all bombs,” the one he calls “like a tiny nuclear bomb.”

The man who thinks we should have bombed our ally’s capital gets to choose the targets.

You need to be SLOWMAXXING.

Read fat books that take two months to finish. Step barefoot onto cool grass just to feel grounded. Watch the rain or the birds for an entire afternoon without feeling guilty. Take fifteen minutes to grind the beans, pour the water, and drink your coffee in absolute silence.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Slow down. You don't have to sprint through your own life.

The sanctions on Iran have lasted decades.

Iran developed domestic production capacity it would never have built if it could have simply imported.

The sanctions on Russia accelerated the development of Russian alternatives to Western financial infrastructure.

The sanctions on North Korea isolated its economy for generations. They did not prevent the country from developing its own nuclear deterrent.

The sanctions on Cuba failed to produce regime change. Cuba nevertheless built one of the most extensive public healthcare systems in the world, alongside a domestic pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector.

There is a pattern here that Washington seems constitutionally incapable of learning:

Economic pressure forces adaptation.

Adaptation builds capacity.

Capacity reduces dependence.

Reduced dependence undermines the next round of pressure.

Every sanction regime that fails to produce submission produces, instead, a more self-sufficient adversary with less exposure to the next sanction.

The weaponization of the dollar is the most powerful sanction tool available.

It is also accelerating, faster than any other single factor, the construction of alternatives to the dollar.

The weapon is sharpening the shield.
