In 2014 Ktnnews undertook an in-depth investigation into widespread cancer cases in Marsabit County. From Maikona to Kargi, tens of people were in their final stages of dying from stomach and throat cancer.
I went back there years later and I found new cases; those I had interviewed had died.
Nema had ordered the closure of a well in Kargi after more than four hundred goats died after drinking water from the well.
The deaths occurred after a huge flood where water from the Kargi desert - where the nuclear waste was dumped - found its way to the town's water table.

Experts told me that Meru ( water) and Nairobi which consume livestock from the region stand a risk of developing cancer cases. It is happening.
