He took her to Kedarnath under the pretext of a religious ritual, with plans to convert and marry her.

Yasmin told her family that Hemant had threatened to kill her and her family if she refused to marry him.

While returning from Kedarnath, Yasmin reportedly fell into a gorge, while Hemant survived unharmed.

Her family believes that Hemant pushed her into the gorge.

Yasmin was brought back to Delhi, where she later died during treatment.

The family alleges that the police failed to take serious action despite their complaints.

If the same case involved a Muslim man and a Hindu minor girl, this would have run on national media for months, with the entire Muslim community being blamed for the actions of one individual.

What is the ritual in Hinduism #KanwarYatra all about?

My teacher once told me that the Kanwar Yatra is an annual pilgrimage of Lord Shiva's devotees who wear saffron clothes and walk to holy places like Haridwar to fetch sacred water from the Ganges River.

They carry this water on their shoulders using a bamboo pole called a kanwar to offer it to Lord Shiva at local shrines during the Hindu month of Sawan.

But, the visuals are ANYTHING but that.
