The right-wing Anakin posting is not a case of right-wing guys having poor cultural literacy or misunderstanding the subject matter, deliberately or otherwise. This is very much the text of the prequels, intended by George Lucas and correctly interpreted by these posters.
The Republic and the Jedi aren't noble organizations brought down from without by treachery; the story is as much about the self-engineered fall of the Jedi as it is about Anakin's fall.
The "Clone Wars" TV show, which expands on the themes of the prequels and adds more detail, and was created by Lucas protege Dave Filoni with Lucas's input, is extremely critical of both the Jedi and the Republic and often very sympathetic to Anakin's way of doing things, even when or perhaps especially when it conflicts with Jedi protocol, despite knowing where all this is leading.
One major arc of the "Clone Wars" is about Obi-Wan's affair with Duchess Satine of Mandalore, who gets murdered in front of him, substantially because Obi-Wan refused to abandon his Jedi orthodoxy to be with her and to save her, suffering the exact fate Anakin betrays the Jedi to try to avoid.
Anakin's padawan, Ahsoka, recognizes that both the Jedi path and the Sith way lead to doom and quits the Jedi order after she is falsely accused of a crime by the myopic Jedi Council, who are preoccupied with nonsense as Palpatine prepares Order 66 under their noses.
There is actually a series of "Clone Wars" episodes about a clone trooper who starts investigating what is being done to clones after his friend dies from an inhibitor chip malfunction. The trooper uncovers the entire Order 66 conspiracy, and delivers the evidence to the Jedi, and they promptly turn him over to Palpatine.
1% of companies represent 90% of AI spending.
Of that 90%, 80% of this spend are from unprofitable VC backed companies.
So, roughly, $0.70-75 of every dollar of AI spending right now comes from AI companies spending VC investment dollars.
As a result, the revenue quality in AI is currently poor. This happened in previous cycles as well, like cloud when early users of AWS were mostly venture backed startups.
The thing, though, is that before AWS could scale and pull thru GCP and others as legitimate cash machines, there were a few clearing events to sort out these brittle revenues.
This is the extrapolation of Ken’s point. We will need to transition from speculative AI spending to consistent, reliable spend that shows up in public market earnings reports.
This hasn’t happened yet because most of the breathtaking revenue growth comes from LPs investing in VC funds who then send it to startups.
Agreed.
Great quote by General George Washington. I said the same, and got posts and even a couple calls saying I was being backwards & barbaric.
Palmer Luckey and George Washington are not barbaric; but our society today is too soft in ways that cause our fellow citizens harm.
My dad graduated late 80s. Said finance was for the ppl that didn’t really give a shit about grades. A bank asked his friend with a 2.something GPA if he wanted to go trade oil futures in London. Guy became loaded
These days you need a Nobel prize to get a job in middle office
@signulll true but (intially) perception will directly impact distribution. very
important for founder to articulate value prop with a sense of theatricality to build up demand. Won’t matter how strong the product is if you don’t get ‘em enticed enough to try it in the first place.
sfo has cracked the peak airport ux:

forget about technicals or fundamentals. for this, don’t overthink it; the correct play is to bet on the iq and toughness of the underlying human.
@BoringBiz_ depends. i’ll bet that all those finance/big-tech/startup edits on ig/tiktok have led to a good amount of people to purse those respective fields. after all your feed on these platforms are just a reflection of what entices you
