"Friends & family back home keep asking, 'How’s life outside #Gaza?' I can’t answer. How to tell people who live on 4 to 6 hours of electricity that high-rise buildings in NYC leave their lights on 24 hours a day, simply because it looks nice?": https://t.co/lM1vrpIUeM
Amnesty strongly condemns Israel’s deliberate killing of journalists in an air strike on a media tent in occupied Gaza City.
Anas al-Sharif and his colleagues have been the eyes and voices of Gaza. Starved and exhausted, they continued to bravely report from the frontlines, despite death threats and immense grief.
No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed than Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
There must be an independent and impartial investigation into the killings of Palestinian journalists, with justice and full reparation for their families. States must urgently act to bring an end to Israel’s genocide now.
The brazen targeted killing of Palestinian journalists Anas Al-Sharif & Mohammad Qreiqeh, along with 4 other media workers, highlights the unimaginable peril Palestinian journalists in Gaza face, and the Israeli military’s complete disregard for civilian life.
During hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel in 2024, Israeli forces occupied and used schools as barracks for soldiers in Lebanon.
In some cases, evidence suggests that Israeli forces purposefully damaged and vandalized the schools. Many of their acts amount to war crimes.

Breaking: new @hrw report finds that Israel's regular gunning down of Palestinians it is starving are war crimes & that lethal GHF mechanism has turned aid distribution into regular bloodbaths—govts should act to stop Israel's extermination of Palestinians https://t.co/7FCyMeJndV
I have never felt so shaken.
Children are dying of hunger. Falling one after another, like petals of a dying flower. Under our watch.
How do you sleep, Presidents, Foreign Ministers, political leaders, diplomats, civil servants - doing nothing to stop Israel’s starvation campaign?
PS: Talking politics while dodging genocide perfectly meets the definition of doing nothing.
Imagine watching your kids cry inconsolably bc their stomachs are cramping w emptiness & there’s nothing you can do. That's reality for parents in Gaza due to Israeli-engineered mass starvation. Govs must urgently act—history will judge them. New from @hrw

Israel is continuing to use starvation as a method of warfare, a war crime, and as a tool to commit genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip.
The harrowing suffering of starving Palestinians in Gaza, including our own colleagues, on an hourly basis, is exacerbated by Israel’s cruel and devastating militarised non-neutral ‘aid distribution’ system. Over 800 people have been killed trying to access aid. This must stop now.
Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza must end now. Israel must immediately lift all restrictions on the entry of aid, reinstate the UN system of aid distribution and allow unfettered, safe, and dignified access to humanitarian aid throughout Gaza immediately. States must stop their inertia and urgently act to ensure Israel fully complies with international law.
From Gaza's seafront Baqa coffee shop, bombed by Israeli occupation forces yesterday, a giant teddy bear lay on the ground. This was a birthday gift from a mother to her two-year-old daughter. Both were killed in the attack.
All media should start from the assumption that the Israeli military are lying and work out from there. I can't believe we're still having to point out something so obvious.
An Israeli court has upheld a six-month detention order against Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyah, a vital figure in Gaza’s healthcare system, without charges or trial.

The new US warning will hopefully convince Israel to end its unlawful blockade of #Gaza, but it comes far too late, and it’s not enough.

"I [Maysoon, Ahmad Manasra’s mother] asked the lawyer to beg the judge & allow me to hug my son, or at least touch his hand. I didn’t touch him for seven years... He needs to feel my love, my worries, my care. I am his mother. But the judge refused. I then stood up 1/4

Over 20,000 children are missing in Gaza.
Many are trapped beneath rubble, detained, buried in unmarked graves, been forcibly disappeared, or separated from their families.
There must be an independent investigation and those responsible must be held accountable.
We need an immediate and definitive #CeasefireNow to find and support the missing children who have survived, and to prevent more families from being destroyed.
