@DoesItPlay1 Secondhand games aren't always an automatic loss for Sony either. Buyers may spend on DLC, or PS+ subs for online play or cloud saves. It can also build brand loyalty, turning used game buyers into free spokespeople who recruit new customers. The secondhand market is an asset π
@MyfavoriteGREY@MightyGazelle1 That's like asking a PlayStation-only fan: "What about all the Nintendo exclusives you're missing out on?"
Why should a PC gamer care about a handful of PlayStation exclusives? Not saying they're bad, just that there's no shortage of other games to play.
I'm set for the year.
@Lancaster_1899@UnpluggedRetro "To ease the transition, players will still be able to download previously purchased content after the closing date for the foreseeable future."
Let's hope Sony doesn't pull the plug after 2-3 years, thinking that's a sufficiently long transition period.

@UnpluggedRetro I want the PC version's perks, so no choice but to wait. But I also won't buy it at $100 for the complete edition, so I'll wait for it to be discounted to at least $35. I don't mind, I also waited for GTA V to go on a sufficient sale back in 2015. Though that only took 8 months.
@Pirat_Nation One of the PC perks. There's many options to have your games the way you want them. Another option would be to buy a Blu-ray disc writer, some discs, covers and a printer that can print disc labels. Personally I went with a 96TB local NAS for backups.

@PatusoSan2610@StopKilingGames That's correct. Many games on Steam are DRM-free. Many have the DRM removed over time. There are games that can be launched without Steam running. Easily confirmed by grabbing Daggerfall for free, closing Steam and then launching the game from its folder.

@BroganMills2@StopKilingGames Maybe this can help you feel better: https://t.co/z8YWRdZeY9
"We take our relationship with customers seriously [...] Retired games will remain in players' Steam libraries. Those players will continue to be able to download, install, and launch the game."
@RealNick95@StopKilingGames@GOGcom You are granted a license. But since the games are DRM-free, nobody can take them from you if you back them up. That goes for the many DRM-free games on Steam too, or even the ones with DRM for that matter.
@DyzCS@StopKilingGames Steam somewhat does. It doesn't solve DRM on the games that has that (not all do), but you can safely store the game once you have purchased it. You could also just tarball the game folders if you don't want to use Steam's built-in backup and restore feature.
@ShawnSenpai https://t.co/uCicyKZSav Total: $1105.84
A solid gaming PC doesn't need to cost all that much more than a PS5 Pro. Note: with 16GB of RAM, use Linux, as that uses way less memory than Winslop 11. Can use SteamOS.
Didn't include mouse + keyboard, controller, nor monitor.
@PlayStation 120+ countries without PSN, leaving imported physical PS5 games the only option. Internet infrastructures can still be bad in 2026, making installing from disc the only viable choice. Many kids can only access second-hand games due to unfair regional prices. But who cares, right?
@Sony The PlayStation 2 is my GOAT. Remember the best selling console of all time? I showed it one of your shitty digital voucher codes and it responded exactly as expected. Even your own legacy rejects what you've turned into.
You go potty and thatβs ok! People will try to make you feel that this act is shameful and something that you should hide but Itβs is nothing more than a biological necessity that all living creatures do in some form. Never be ashamed that you potty, everybody potties #danPotty
@YouTube How do I get rid of this awful "Latest YouTube posts" above the Recommended section? I'm not using YouTube as a social platform. I feel like unsubscribing to every creator that fills my timeline with posts I can get elsewhere, like here on Twitter.
@peta@elonmusk And you put down the larger percentage of the animals you rescue. You actually kill animals. This is a harmless image portraying a photo edited macaque as smoking a blunt/cigarette with a "chill" expression. Go after actual animal cruelty. This is not it.
