I was encouraged this week to see the leaders of the frontier labs agree on the need for them to slow down the pace of AI development. Given the stakes, it’s a good and necessary first step.
But I’m even more encouraged by the growing recognition that how this powerful new technology develops should be at the center of our public debate.
I’ve been watching the progress on AI for over a decade now, and one thing that’s clear to me is that the potential impact of this technology is not overhyped. It’s also moving at lightning speed – and even faster than those who are engineering it can keep up with.
I’m not an AI accelerationist who believes it will lead to some techno-utopia, and I’m not a doomer who thinks it will inevitably lead to humanity’s destruction.
But whether this technology results in amazing breakthroughs in medicine, energy and education or unleashes huge economic disruptions, greater inequality, and potential catastrophe will depend on the choices that we make right now – choices that should be made not just by the companies involved, but by all of us.
The RF world is insane.
Researchers recovered AES-128 keys from a Bluetooth chip by listening to its own antenna from 10 meters away.
Crypto-engine switching noise couples into the RF chain, rides the 2.4 GHz carrier, and leaks out as radio.
Now they bombed and set on fire an entire oil storage facility in Iran. Not only this is such a huge environmental disaster, soon there won't be any infrastructure left in the country for the people to live and operate on.
Soon everyone realizes that, as was clear from their past resume, US and Israel governments are no one's savior, but always after oil and land and instability to sell fire arms.
To my US friends, PLEASE VOTE THEM OUT!
We're introducing Codex Security.
An application security agent that helps you secure your codebase by finding vulnerabilities, validating them, and proposing fixes you can review and patch.
Now, teams can focus on the vulnerabilities that matter and ship code faster.

The Fisher information matrix can be expressed as the Hessian of the relative entropy (Kullback-Leibler divergence) when the statistical model is regular.

▪️L'Amérique est le plus grand producteur de guerre ;
Les États-Unis n'ont pas été en guerre seulement 16 ans de leurs 240 ans d'histoire ;
▪️Les États-Unis sont à l'origine d'environ 80% des conflits armés dans le monde depuis la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale ;
▪️Les États-Unis violent surtout la souveraineté d'autres pays et s'immiscent dans les affaires intérieures d'autres pays ;
▪️Après la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, les États-Unis ont tenté de renverser plus de 50 gouvernements étrangers ;
▪️Les USA se sont violemment ingéré dans les élections dans au moins 30 pays et ont tenté d'assassiner plus de 50 dirigeants étrangers ;
Alzheimer’s may be linked to gum bacteria, new research shows.
Scientists have repeatedly found Porphyromonas gingivalis—the chief bacterium that causes periodontitis—inside the brains of people who died with Alzheimer’s.
When researchers deliberately infected mice with this oral bacterium, the animals rapidly developed key Alzheimer’s pathology, including the buildup of amyloid-beta plaques.
Perhaps most alarming, the bacteria’s toxic enzymes have been detected in the brains of people showing early Alzheimer’s changes years before memory loss or other symptoms appear, suggesting the infection may quietly initiate damage long in advance.
These discoveries have sparked serious interest in new treatment approaches. An experimental drug called COR388 (from the company Cortexyme) has already succeeded in lowering both bacterial load and amyloid-beta levels in preclinical models. Although large human trials are still needed, the evidence is mounting that at least some cases of Alzheimer’s may have an infectious trigger rather than being purely degenerative.

> created Linux kernel at 21
> built Git because no existing tool was good enough
> becomes backbone of servers, Android, cloud, supercomputers
> never chased fame, money, titles, hype
> stays private, consistent, brutally honest for decades
> still reviews patches, still improves Linux
> avoids drama like it's a feature
> influences the entire tech world without even trying
> lives quietly, does the work, no noise
Linus Torvalds is truly the most underappreciated legend of the tech industry
We just launched our very first game!
I love making videos - they’re a great way to explore and share science. But some of the best and most memorable ways to learn are in-person, with others, having fun.
That’s why we’ve spent months developing the official Veritasium game: it brings the same ideas, the same curiosity, the same ‘aha!’ moments, but in a way that you can share with friends and family, having fun and learning at the same time.

I had the privilege to host the Nvidia 25 year anniversary ! So cool that they chose to have StarCraft be part of the event. Very honored to meet Jensen Huang as well! You can find the event VOD on my Twitch channel. 😎
