@TheLongInvest No way.
I entered the newly minted Singapore sports school (12) as the worst bowler in my batch. That was great but being the worst sucked.
I trained harder than anyone to get the first boys age-group intl title for the bowling team at 13.
Repped Singapore at 15.
someone once told me “emotional intelligence is the discipline of sitting with a feeling long enough to understand it before you hand it to someone else” and that honestly changed how i move.
I don’t know who needs to hear this
But EVERYONE has a sad story
The wealthiest people believe they’ve suffered
The poorest people believe they’ve suffered
The truth is:
Nobody cares
Suffering is part of life
You use it or let it use you.
Overlooked fact: every significant relationship in your life began with one moment of someone being slightly braver than the situation required. One person said the thing. Asked the question. Made the first move. Relationships don't start with mutual courage. They start with one person's excess courage.
Big believer in the idea that only a handful of decisions determine your entire life. The rest is all just noise
The big decisions are generally:
1. who you marry
2. what career path you go down
3. saving and spending habits
4. how you take of your body and exercise
5. who you spend time with (friends)
If you get these 5 right, it’s really hard to go wrong in life
The longevity world is crowded with expensive answers. After years inside it, the ones I actually trust are almost embarrassingly cheap. 8 hour Sleeps. Weight lifting for Muscle. Exposured to Sunlight. Things you do, not things you buy.
This is the best way to end America's entrepreneurial culture.
Most founders I know endure 100+ hours of work/week because they are obsessed with their mission and the impact they can have on the world.
They make < $100K / year, fly economy, and live modest lives. The average American doesn't want their life.
Just because their company's valuation is growing doesn't mean they are "wealthy".
When you impose a > $100M tax on illiquid stock, they will declare bankruptcy or flee the country.
