Next week is the chance to put the foot on the throat. Missed the last two opportunities but this time we play first - beat Sunderland (H) and we’re 9 points clear before City go to Anfield. Killer instinct now.
@ConnCFC Chelsea fans have gone from celebrating draws, to celebrating 'only losing by 1' both at home. What on earth has happened to that club.
And we didn't have Raya (you don't score 1 goal if he plays) or Calafiori.
In all competitions this season
Viktor Gyokeres - 5 goals (£54m)
Joao Pedro - 2 goals (£56m)
Benjamin Sesko - 2 goals (£67m)
Alexandre Isak - 0 goals (£130m)
Why is everyone, including the English media, focusing on the wrong guy?
Arsenal shouldn't let the Gillett penalty overturn die because we won.
Some questions:
How does Webb explain the decision when he said this?
How can a referee be barred from officiating the team he supports... but not their direct rivals?
How does ANY official end up on 66% of our opening 6 games?
EPL has to see how rank amateur all of this is and how damaging it is to the league.
Just to confirm. It is okay for a keeper to rush out and take out a player, as long as he gets the slightest touch on the ball.
Gotcha. Can’t wait to see this applied elsewhere
This was a penalty and they’ve overturned that one on Gyokeres. Any neutral arguing this is just on the wind up. Football world should unite to out this horrific fix.
"Its difficult to adjust" for 120 million Wirtz
vs
"He NEEDS to score against City & Liverpool or he's a bum" for 60 million Gyokeres
Funny how that works 😂
I find it strange how Arsenal is constantly used for rage bait these days. Premier League clubs signed several strikers this season, yet none of them have scored more than Gyökeres. Still, people claim it’s not enough until he proves himself in the big games.
When Ekitike missed a sitter recently, no one seemed to care, but the moment Gyökeres had a poor first touch, it became a talking point.
Arsenal have scored the most goals this season, yet the narrative is that we’re “too defensive.” Meanwhile, the so-called attacking Liverpool haven’t even outscored Arsenal.
It feels like Arsenal’s name is just used whenever someone wants to draw attention.
Kepa > Neto
Mosquera > Tomi
Norgaard > Jorgi
Zubi > Partey
Madueke > Sterling
Gyokeres > Jesus* (*injured)
We’ve improved in availability & quality with all the above, but we still haven’t added a new body to the squad. Dowman is good enough already but he’s 15. Need something.
🚨🔴⚪️ EXCL: Arsenal have submitted initial bid for Noni Madueke around £50m package, add-ons included.
Chelsea want more than £50m fixed as Elanga/similar deals remain their reference.
Good relationship between clubs as talks continue, Madueke agreed terms with Arsenal.
I'm taking this if it's for backup purposes, remember we had sterling as our RW cover last season. However, if signing Noni means we don't get eze or Rodrygo, then we riot, that would be criminal.
🚨 EXCL: Arsenal make contact with Chelsea over move for Noni Madueke. Clubs now in talks after 23yo #CFC winger agreed personal terms on proposed 5yr contract. No deal yet but England int’l prioritising #AFC above any other interested sides @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/ptia0kQIGi
