@elonmusk you’ve previously written concerns about USA low birth rate leading to population collapse risk
so shouldn’t USA welcome immigration to mitigate the threat of an aging population?
ofc legal immigration is ideal, but the visa process has been broken for years & no end in sight…
@p1kles_official @peterrhague Well to be fair that, in a lot of ways, is a great opportunity. Another way to frame it is that nobody is willing to take the long term risk for a low margin business. But, run well, $0.25/gallon revenue could turn into a great business.
@BrandonTucker@the_transit_guy But the second you get off a plane in Dallas or Houston…you also need a car? The train has a huge advantage in that it can go straight to the city centre, and can also make a couple key stops on the last mile into each city.
@philalves_ I was a big believer in this until I got the opportunity to observe strong VP hires in action. VC-backed startups don’t have the time to waste cycles on so much figuring things out for the first time. Your people will develop faster with an experienced coach who empowers them.
@TransLinkNews@PCIDevelopments This is amazing! Glad to see that Translink is finally adopting this strategy that has worked so well for MTR and others.
@RaiderFan604@iamkennethchan Why does it need to be more than one track each way? It’s not at capacity yet in terms of trains per hour so what do you think additional tracks would accomplish?
overheard at a coffee shop
man: “where are you from?”
woman: “reunion, in france”
man: “i’ve always wanted to go there. what’s it like?”
woman: “its very pretty…but there are a lot of cockroaches”
man: “oh! so it’s just like chelsea”
woman: 💀💀💀
