Three-Year Review of the MAIA 2019 (ACT):
ALA submission submission raises a number of matters in response to the Review’s Discussion Paper with regard to how the relatively new MAI Scheme is operating to date https://t.co/NpRFDjytFn
@AustLawAlliance
Will the ACT come clean about how little the CTP changes here have actually benefited vehicle owners!? Probably not.

LET'S KEEP REPEATING...
Bin Laden didn't fly the planes.
But he was guilty.
Charles Manson didn't kill anyone.
But he was guilty.
Hitler didn't operate the camps.

The new ACT Motor Accident Injuries Act 2019 came into force on the weekend and now people injured on Canberra’s roads are likely to face a ‘David and Goliath’ battle to receive adequate compensation @actctp

@actctp The government claims that the new scheme will be “fairer, faster and more comprehensive”, but that’s really only the case if you are an insurer. https://t.co/PGpdIpyHxu
"only an estimated 5 per cent of the premiums collected were actually paid to people injured on the road".
The ACT is about to embark on a similar scheme! We don't think this was the intent of the citizens jury at all! @carolinelec @ABarrMLA
In the new ACT CTP scheme, when someone injures you negligently I had been saying you pay them half your damages. But actually good luck for anyone to get anything much in the bureaucratic maze, at fault or not. #alaactconf19
The glorious new ACT CTP scheme sets out to do many things but the legislation is so complex no one will every have any idea what to do once injured. #alaactconf19
It's happening again, this time in Qld!!
A renewed call by Queensland CTP insurers for QLD to change its CTP scheme to a no-fault system is nothing but a shameless attempt to boost insurer profits. https://t.co/h2RpO4xqbq
ALA SA President @sarahlvinall says compensation entitlements have been reduced so much it is not worth the time, cost & risk for car accident victims to pursue their claim to trial. We're disappointed with the govt's response to recent CTP review. More: https://t.co/apuEchitKp
In a year's time, cut & paste this quote into a report about the scheme we'll have in the ACT: "the problem is that the compensation entitlements have been reduced so much it is just not worth the time, cost and risk for victims to pursue their claim all the way to trial"
SA govt response to CTP review has failed people injured in car accidents. The govt has rejected all the recommendations from the review that would have provided better and fairer compensation to victims of car accidents.
