@Adrian_Hilton She's a democratically elected politician and that trumps everything. MPs should have the option of sweering an oath to democracy and the rule of law.
@emilyhewertson I'm glad she did this. Her loyalty is to her constituents not a multi-millionaire who inherited everything he has. There should be a non-monarchist oath like there is a non-God oath in court.
@campbellclaret If you think this makes Farage look bad you haven't understood Reform supporters. They'll love this. He's blunt and firm and talks like they would. PS - I'm not a Reform or Farage supporter.
@PHeatonJones No, it's fine. Her position and authority comes from winning an election not from anything ot anyone else. MP should be allowed to take an oath to defend the country in the same way oaths in court don't have to be religious.
@GrahamSmith_@RepublicStaff@metpoliceuk The barriers are police property. There is nothing else attached to them so that's why nothing else was taken down. I assume they needed to do that so the barriers could be taken away after the event.
@clashreport Despicable and corrupt. Get rid of every president's power to pardon people. If Andrew was convicted in England is brother the King would not pardon him.
@JuliaHB1 Homosexual acts were decriminalised in 1967. That didn't end homophobia. That lasted for decades longer. It's still prevalent in some homes. Pride Month is about valuing people who have had to hide who they are. Saudi Arabia and Russia don't mark it. What does that tell you?
@T69885292 JD Vance is married to the daughter of Indian immigrants who came to the US in the 1980s. Two of Donald Trump's three wives were born in Eastern European counties and emigrated to the US as adults.
