🏦 Iraq’s banking weakness was partly connected to its limited openness and connectivity with the international banking system, especially American banks.

🇮🇶🤝🇺🇸 Al-Zaidi is now explicitly inviting American banks and financial institutions into Iraq.

✅ This is where purchasing-power thesis shows that Iraq’s government is describing a deliberate effort to rebuild the financial system’s ability to connect with the global banking system.

✅ And there’s an especially interesting historical/current connection:

earlier reporting this year had already discussed opportunities for American banks to establish branches in Iraq to facilitate trade, investment and Baghdad–Washington economic relations.

👉🏻 So this isn’t appearing out of nowhere.

🇮🇶 IRAQ IS NOT JUST REFORMING ITS CURRENCY ……

💸💸💸 🏦 IT IS REBUILDING THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM THAT SUPPORTS THE CURRENCY.

That is an important distinction.

If the long-term objective is a more internationally integrated Iraqi economy, then banking connectivity, correspondent relationships, compliance, fiscal transparency, investment flows and resource revenue management are foundational infrastructure.

Whether that eventually produces the kind of dinar purchasing-power change we are watching is still the unresolved question.

But the infrastructure underneath that question is becoming much more visible.

The Gospel is free.
Ministry cost money.

God asked people to give for the sake of the gospel.

And to support those who labor in Gods word.

Several passages show God’s prophets or prophetic servants receiving or requesting material support,
though the Bible also warns against exploiting people.

I’m in agreement with that with you….
There are charlatans out there.

•Elijah and the widow of Zarephath

1Kings 17:8–16

Elijah asked the widow for water and bread.

God then miraculously sustainedher flour and oil during the famine.

•Elisha and the Shunammite woman
2Kings 4:8–17

The woman provided food and lodging for Elisha.

He did not demand payment, but she freely supported his ministry.

•The sons of the prophets
2 Kings 4:38–44

Elisha’s prophetic community faced famine, and food was brought anddistributed among them.

•The priests and Levites supported by offerings
2 Chronicles 31:4–12

King Hezekiah commanded the people togive the portion required to support thoseserving in the house of God.

•Malachi’s call to bring tithes — Malachi3:8–10

God instructed Israel to bring the full tithe into the storehouse so there would be foodin His house.

•John the Baptist’s call to share — Luke3:10–11

John preached repentance and told people with extra clothing or food to share with those in need.

•Jesus and the temple offering — Mark12:41–44; Luke 21:1–4

Jesus observed people giving offeringsand commended the poor widow who gave sacrificially.

•Support for gospel workers — 1Corinthians 9:4–14; Galatians 6:6; 1Timothy 5:17–18

These passages teach that those who preach and teach God’s Word have alegitimate right to receive material support.

•Paul’s collection for believers in Jerusalem

Romans 15:25–28; 1Corinthians 16:1–4; 2 Corinthians 8–9

The clearest examples of a prophet directly asking someone to give are….

Elijah in 1 Kings 17:10–16
and John the Baptist in Luke 3:10–11.

Both clear evidence throughout scripture Old Testament and New Testament.

Jesus explains to us that the word of God is in “seed form”.

برعاية وحضور رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد علي فالح الزيدي، استضافت الممثلية الدائمة للعراق في الأمم المتحدة بمدينة نيويورك، أمس الخميس بتوقيت بغداد، طاولة مستديرة لممثلي مجموعة من المصارف والمؤسسات المالية الأمريكية، وعدد من المسؤولين والمختصين في الشأن الاقتصادي والمالي وممثلي المصارف العراقية.

وأكد السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء في كلمة له أن العراق يشهد مرحلة جديدة من التحول الاقتصادي والإصلاح المالي والمصرفي، مشيراً إلى أن ضعف النظام المصرفي العراقي خلال السنوات الماضية ارتبط، في جانب منه، بمحدودية انفتاحه وتواصله مع النظام المصرفي الدولي، ولاسيما المصارف الأمريكية.

ودعا سيادته المصارف والمؤسسات المالية الأمريكية إلى المشاركة في بناء مستقبل اقتصادي جديد للعراق، مؤكداً أن دخول المصارف الأمريكية إلى السوق العراقية سيمثل نقلة نوعية في تطوير القطاع المصرفي، وتعزيز علاقته بالنظام المالي العالمي، ورفع كفاءة التعاملات المالية والاستثمارية.

وبين السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء أن
العراق يقف اليوم أمام مرحلة اقتصادية جديدة، وهو ينتج حالياً نحو (4.5) ملايين برميل من النفط يومياً، وتتجه سياسة الحكومة إلى رفع مستويات الإنتاج إلى (10) ملايين برميل يومياً، ضمن رؤية تستهدف تعظيم الموارد وتوظيفها في التنمية وتنويع الاقتصاد.

كما أكد السيد الزيدي انفتاح العراق على الشركات والمصارف الأمريكية والعالمية، وعمل الحكومة على توفير بيئة استثمارية جاذبة وتقديم التسهيلات اللازمة للمستثمرين، مبيناً أن أمام المصارف الأمريكية فرصاً واسعة للمشاركة في الاقتصاد العراقي وتمويل المشاريع والاستثمارات في مختلف القطاعات. كما تتطلع الحكومة إلى شراكة فاعلة مع المؤسسات المالية والمصارف الأمريكية، بما يسهم في تطوير القطاع المصرفي العراقي، وربط الاقتصاد العراقي بصورة أكثر فاعلية بالنظام المالي والاقتصادي العالمي.

وأوضح السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء أن الحكومة وضعت خط شروع واضحاً للإصلاح الاقتصادي والمالي والمصرفي، وبدأت بخطة إصلاح شاملة للمصارف الحكومية، بما يعزز كفاءتها ويرفع مستوى الحوكمة والامتثال ويؤسس لقطاع مصرفي قادر على مواكبة متطلبات الاقتصاد الحديث. وأكد أن إجراءات مكافحة الفساد وحماية المال العام تسير بالاتجاه الصحيح، إذ تعمل الحكومة على تعزيز الأنظمة والإجراءات التي تكفل حماية أموال الدولة ورفع مستوى الشفافية والحوكمة.
