Since 2024, I often ask some of my elderly pxts what biggest regrets were, answers revolve around same stuff: family, love, life choices & experiences they never had.
Just did it now, same answer, none has ever mentioned anything money related, NOT ONE.
Was bleeped by the nurses to sort stuff out then got into a deep convo with this man & I just can’t shake some of the stuff he’s said off, it got me thinking.
These OGs emphasize for me, a strong need to live my life to the fullest, I don’t wanna be 78 and rueing my head at missed chances, family & friends I could have repaired relationships with but didn’t, loves I could’ve pursued but didn’t, experiences I desperately wanted to have, could have had, but didn’t.
I want death to meet me with as little regrets as possible, I want to leave this earth completely spent but with my heart full. So help me God.
You will probably sometimes lose your mind and if/when you do, make sure you’re doing it in his presence, not away from him.
Cry, but cry to him.
Crash out, but crash out to him.
Whatever you do in the losing your mind, don’t do it away from him.
He is near.
I want my relationship with God to exist beyond emergencies. It's easy to pray when life hurts. I also want to remember gratitude, quietness, and conversation when life is going well.
Underrated life advice: Increase your recovery speed. You can't avoid failures. You will get rejected. Make bad decisions. Lose money. Embarrass yourself. Whatever. Just learn to reset faster. Shrink the window between fall and recovery. Master the art of the fresh start.
