@PhilosophyTube somewhere in the recesses of my mind I remember you mentioning in a video something about suffragettes who voted against their own interests.
Am I misremembering that? If not what video was that in because I couldn’t find it when I was looking.
@electrifying I worked somewhere they required 32 character pass phrases. That would have been manageable if just to login but the 5min inactivity screen lock made it horrible.
@LockeLamora This is one of the reasons I wear a mask at airports and on MTA. Everyone has facial rec now plugged Into some database and they use it to track you and identify you.
"A family that does not or cannot control the information environment of its children is barely a family at all."
- Neil Postman in "Technopoly," speaking of the dangers of... *checks notes*... television and the superabundance of information on young minds in 1992.
@the_transit_guy When I bought my house I specifically chose one within walking distance of a primary school and got a bakfiets to take the child to school. A year before school would have started for the child the city closed the school.
Now I have to drive the child to school everyday.
@the_transit_guy My complaint is that the trip will take longer than driving. There is no incentive to use the rail over the existing bus service.
It needs to be high speed rail and take less time than a drive.
