@csub_techteach1 I would implement Zoom, for the pandemic really made me familiar with the software. Having looked into other softwares, I am interested in becoming familiar with Camtasia because it offers quizzes and activities in the software. This is a nice feature to help students review.
@MRobledo64@csub_techteach1 Hello Matthew, I personally had never heard of Blooket, but now that I’ve briefly researched it, it is very similar to Kahoot. Something I appreciated about Blooket is the diversity to review lesson plans rather than the typical review game or trivia.
@csub_techteach1 My favorite technology tool is Kahoot, for it is much more engaging for students. The competitive element is also a nice incentive for students to want to do better. Class Dojo has become another option for me because one can update parents and remind students for assignments.
@samanthadlt23 @csub_techteach1 Hi Samantha, although Google Classroom is my favorite, Google Forms would be my next option. As you mentioned, they’re very great in assessing student progress and needs. Another benefit is that teachers can assess how to incorporate their student’s interests into lessons.
@csub_techteach1 My favorite Google Tool is Google Classroom. The main benefit is turning in work and having data collection, but other benefits include communication with students and the availability of class information, PowerPoints, and additional information outside of the classroom.
@csub_techteach1 Tech Quest 3 has been very difficult , for I underestimated the amount of time some of these took. Apple Badges was very useful to earn because most technology is surrounded around Apple Products such as iPhones and iPads, and being familiar with Apple will probably required.
@MMEDINAEDTE4200@csub_techteach1 Hey Mauricio,
I also think Google Forms is a great way to learn about your students and their culture. Having this information certainly can guide you in addressing their cultural/student needs, and students will certainly appreciate this.
@csub_techteach1 My Tech Quest portfolio is getting there. The iMovie maker Tech Quest can incorporate the many cultural aspects of your classroom. Incorporating a YouTube playlist with cultural backgrounds is a great cultural resource to teach them about the cultures in the class.
@colby_kohr@csub_techteach1 I agree with you Colby, and I forgot the usefulness of structuring questions to an educator’s liking. As educators, we see our students and get a feel for the classroom, and we would want to know what could help our students feel excited/interested for class.
@csub_techteach1 I would use Google Forms or Polls everywhere , for both can be very engaging for students. Google forms is more favorable because it is easy for students to answer freely. It is also simple to design for educators, and it seems better for data collection.
@ekristoff01@csub_techteach1 I completely overlooked the discussion portion of Canvas, and I agree that that would be great for assessing what students learned. The familiarity with Canvas could be very useful, for it could help us make it very accessible and simple for them at home or wherever.
@csub_techteach1 The grading tool that would be most useful for my history class would be Canvas and Turnitin. When taking quizzes and exams, Canvas would be efficient for data collecting, and for essays, TurnItIn would be great to assess plagiarism and grammatical errors. They’d save much time.
@isidromoralesss@csub_techteach1 Hey Isidro, I also believe PowerPoint is useful and simple to use, and PowerPoint could be great for students. I would appreciate if Microsoft made their software/apps more accessible because most teachers/professors require student work to be on Microsoft apps.
@csub_techteach1 The presentation technology I would use is Prezo or Google Slide because both offer captivating themes that could keep students engaged. Google Slides would be more encouraging to use, for Google Slides is easily accessible outside of class for students.
@ekristoff01@csub_techteach1 Hey Elizabeth, I was unaware of how useful Canvas could actually be. With that being said, I would definitely consider it since it has the same benefits as Google Slides, and students would tend to be more comfortable with it since it’s already used frequently .
@csub_techteach1 I would incorporate both Google Slides and YouTube. Google Slides could be very useful in presenting visuals, and Google Slides would work great for group projects. Incorporating YouTube would be ideal to captivate student attention while also promoting active learning.
@RubiGalvez13@csub_techteach1 Hello Rubi,
Class Dojo was also an educational tool that I considered due to the communication you can have with parents. Aside from successes, I think it could also be very beneficial to provide extra content!
@csub_techteach1 I would like to incorporate Kahoot because it is a fun and beneficial way to incorporate learning and data collection. Given that even my professors use Kahoot, it’s fair to assess that it is also supported by various educators. For my students, it would be fun and beneficial.
@ElCharalitoo@csub_techteach1 Hey Juan, I would also use maps for the investigation of a wide range of topics because geography always has an important role in many decisions. Students understanding geography could improve their analysis of countries.
