Can we retain personal injury tort law without reinforcing outdated views about impairment and disability? Check out my new article engaging with Gregory Keating's theory of tort law https://t.co/Ke2BiNwKuI
Many thanks to @philandmed whose conference on Pickards work in 22' inspired me to pursue this project to completion, and to the editors of the @ASU law journal for publishing this piece and for great editorial work! 2/2
New paper: *Addicted to the ADA? Disability Antidiscrimination Law and the Problem of Addiction*. It offers a novel construction of the ADA that expands coverage to addicts, by building on Hanna Pickard's philosophy of addiction. Comments are welcome! https://t.co/R0JLb068j9 1/2
@DLG1984 Thanks @DLG1984 for this insightful engagement. Fascinating to hear about the legal practice in Quebec! I do hope equality commissions embrace their prosecution power and use it more often, and perhaps this will also send a message to courts about the public aspects of disc.
Happy to share my new article on discrimination is now out with OJLS 🌟 !
It explores the justification of public enforcement of anti-discrimination law, particularly state officials' authority to file civil claims against alleged discriminators. https://t.co/2njOkghbe2

Special thanks to @SafraTAU where I wrote this piece, and to generous colleagues who commented on earlier drafts, particularly my friends @CostanzaPorro92 & Luigi Lonardo of @UCC.
Please dm me for a full txt copy, and any thoughts and comments. 3/3
This paper identifies 3 models of state prosecution powers - relating differently to individuals' rights of action. It borrows from theories of criminal law, and argues that such powers are justified because discrimination is also a public wrong against the whole community. 2/3

Last week at Gregory Keating's *Reasonableness & Risk* symposium @USCGouldLaw: the line up was stunning w/ @candide02 @oriherstein @ketanrama Marco Cappalletti, Rebecca Stone, and Steven Schaus! I talked about the concept of disability in tort law theory, and got this v cool hat ;-)
@IChotiner@metraux_julia Shameful. I could not belive I was reading this in the New Yorker. Its simplistic, one sided and devoid of the real complexities of this horrible situation.
Fellow academics, I am sharing this piece from my dear colleagues @HujiLawOfficial, Netta Barak-Corren @MichalShur: https://t.co/wLI3BWEXIG. This not yet another round of violence. Please read and share. @BringThemHome23, @EllaTravelsLove
So angry to see human rights organizations & supposedly progressive forces that cant find the words to condemn the insane killing of innocents in Israel. It's not that complicated to oppose the murder and kidnapping of women & children and also continue to oppose the occupation.
What a treat to finally hold this copy of @nicolebporter 's latest book, and to reimagine the workace with her in no other than picturesque San Sebastian, Spain 💫
